Question about bookmaker Masters bet

Before the tournament, they had about 30 golfers to win listed. the total number who played is like 95. They also had a "field to win" bet which I took at +675.

Bet was graded a loser. I believe Immelman had to have been part of the field. I e-mailed them and asked that they check into this, but they didnt respond. I e-mailed them twice in the past to ask something and never got an answer. They either ignore questions they dont like or dont get my e-mails.

I didnt write down the 30 golfers they had odds on. Mistake apparently. I find it almost impossible to believe Immelman was not part of the field before the tourney when they only listed odds on 30 guys. Immelman was on nobodies radar before the start.

Is there anyone here who can confirm that they actually offered odds on Immelman because they bet him or remember seeing him listed before the tourney among the 30 they listed and he was not part of the "field" to win?

help from a mod to check into this appreciated.

No way Immelman was a part of 30 man field, as he was in very poor form coming in and has never really done anything at the Masters. A good lesson for everybody that plays field bets like this......always print out the field when you make the play. I usually cut and paste the field and email it to myself just in case this type of situation comes up.

Was talking to someone yesterday who told me that Immelman was not part of the field at any book she saw. Was around 55-1.

I believe they are honest. Personally I thought Woods would win. Just figured Id take 65 out out 95 players who all are really good at +675. I gave up all the big names. Figured Id take a shot at it.

Didnt think Id end up in a grey area where its marked loser but i am wondering if thats right. Immelman isnt unknown, but they had a much quicker cutoff here than at other books who had more longshot players listed at like 75-1 or 100-1.

I can't believe that you don't think he could have had a line on him when he finished 5th last year.

looked it up. Cant believe you have to sling mud at me when you are clueless. please find another thread to post in. thanks

Immelman at Masters

2007 T55
2006 cut
2005 T5
2004 cut
1999 56

His results this year Im sure are not good. I just would like bookmaker to double check this and make sure it was graded properly. I believe they are honest, I will listen to what they have to say. The top 30 in the world were all here, Immelman being among them is not clear to me.

In the future I will either buy a new printer or hand write when it comes to a bet like this. Helps the peace of mind.

Would be surprised if he wasn't lined solo, but wouldn't be shocked so worth looking into.

For the record

I have already called Bookmaker.com and should have some information very soon - I am waiting for a wagering supervisor to call me back. Right now it is a little after 10AM here in San Jose. As soon as he calls I will email Mr. Smith with the information I am given and leave it up to him as to what he he wants to post any further about this matter.

Thanks, wilheim..

definitely in top 30 imo... most books I would assume had him in the top 20-25.

I know there is world golf rankings. not that that is what lines are set on. for instance Fred Couples wouldnt be top 30 in world rankings, but wouldnt be field in The Masters because he is good at Augusta.

but I searched this. Immelman was #29 before the Masters. So not surprising then if he was one of the last ones at bookmaker to have odds.

Trevor Immelman from South Africa won the Masters Tournament at Augusta National having lead since round one. On a final day with blustery winds averaging 20 miles per hour Immelman shot a final round of 3-over-par 75 for a three stroke victory over World Number One Tiger Woods. Immelman becomes only the second South African Masters Champion, his victory coming on the 30th anniversary of Gary Player’s third Green Jacket win. The 28-year-old 2008 Masters Champion climbs 14 places to World Number 15.

Ooops! Thats a little embarassing, especially when you bolded it like that.

On an unrelated note, I cant believe that A's werent favored last night when they won the World Series last year.

I lost fair and square. he must have been one of the last one or two they decided to put odds on.

Knowing Mr. Smith, Viejo, as well as some of the folks at CRIS it seems some are taking this post out of context.

Mr. Smith just wanted to know if he was in fact listed. I would suggest their live help chat option as they have been very helpful in the past. Likely not more than one or two managers would have access to these odds at this point, and their not answering you was because no one really knew.
I'm sure they would cut and paste the odds to you if necessary. They did for me on a question I had earlier today.

If Viejo says it, I'd take it as fact. Especially with the matter involving CRIS.

Definitely a good idea when taking a field in anything to have a copy of who is listed and who is noted. Even handwriting it, which I do sometimes, is a good option.
