Should a book automatically give you a crumb for reporting a bad line ?

I think so, like maybe just $20.

I noticed a very bad line yesterday, reported it... got nothing.

Screw it next time, no incentive to tell them. I won't bet into, though.

A better question is would you give your buddy cash for telling you that you got a big ass booger hanging out of your nose before some chick saw it? If your book treats you right then look out for them, Karma does come back you know. As I stated in a previous thread "the guy who hangs the line is not the guy holding the money". Most of kids are making $5 to $7 and hour, help them keep food on their families plates and do the right thing.

Never worked in the business have you there Hoss. What do you do for a living?

If somebody accidently puts a CD pricetag on a stereo at BestBuy would you expect to get a free Toaster for reporting it?

I won't bet into an obvious bad line. They can easily grade it a loss, or cancel a win.

If I call them, they ask my acct # and password, transfer me to a linesman, guy says You're right, Thanks !.... I expect a token for it, frankly. It saves them some possible shit later on.

I won't report it to books in the future, that fail to reward me for it. Most do throw you a token.

The gambling biz is different than retail.

But you are assuming of course that the guy who made the mistake has the balls to go tell the owner that he fucked up and you saved his ass.

But yet if you make a mistake placing your bet on the internet you arent above calling in and having them correct or delete it for you. Why should we do your guys job for you?(and yes this happens all the time)

correct answer, but I won't tell them again ( or bet it). I'd rather have the employee trust me enough ( as owner) to fess up to the error, avoid a bigger mess later, and throw that Doug guy $20 for reporting it.

Locally in retail ( at least at Grocery store level), common practice is you get one of the item free, if it scans wrong ( higher than shelf price).

What part of "the owner probably doesnt know" dont you understand? If you reported it to the owner you may get your lousy $20 or you might just cost some poor shmuck his job or a days pay or an ass chewing in front of the entire office.

The people in this business bust their asses so you guys can get your bets in and hopefully in turn make a decent life for there families and you guys want to take it to uppermanagement for a few bucks.

I wouldn't tell the owner, but a good owner wouldn't berate a linesman over it, mistakes happen.

Way better to have a policy of rewarding a customer for reporting it, this way you nip a bigger problem in the bud.

I didn't ask for the token, I'm used to getting it as courtesy, I have at many places.

I don't want to name the book, but it should be very obvious who this book is. I will not confirm or deny any guesses.
