im afraid of the "it looks to easy" but with moneyline betting you dont have to worry about the spread......pads wont have any bullpen but maddux doesnt walk alot anyway amd he has a rubber arm...lets hop he has to get a few over the plate and not get corner strikes...

I agree this one looks to "EASY" for the Diamondbacks. However what looks to easy is usually not. All the stats and consensus plus the fact San Diego played 22 innings last night does favor Arizona , but the line looks to fishy for me and I smell a rat.

Stats to back Arizona
10-2 against NL West this season
Haren 0-0 with a 1.69 ERA in 2 starts against the Padres
Arizona days rest

Stats against Padres
Maddux 2-10 with a 4.88 ERA in 18 starts against the Diamondbacks
San Diego played 22 innings last night
San Diego used seven relief pitches last night (Bullpen tired)

As of time of post here Public Betting Consensus
84.21% on Arizona
15.79% on San Diego

Which do you think has the Books have more to gain from . Arizona win or Arizona loss ?

The public has to win some of the time to keep them coming back for more or else they would never play. Look at Monday nights in Football for an example. The favorite, especially if it's a large one, generally wins and covers. The public is all over big favorits on Monday nights. Sometimes books take a hit. The line isn't extremely overboard because Maddux is tossing tonight. Anybody other then him or Peavy methinks would have had a 2-1 odds if not higher.

Oh I agree the public has to win some of the time to keep them coming back no doubt.
