Beckett,

Crushing during the year last year, crushing during the playoffs,
crushing in the big dance.

Eric Bedard or Beckett when healthy.

NL pitchers have it so easy.

Peavy and Santana are great and all but Peavy plays in pitchers' parks every night against crap offenses. Santana deserves consideration as well but is still an NL pitcher.

Bedard is my choice for having dominant stats despite having to face the Yankees and Red Sox alot last year. His only problem is injuries.

I voted Halladay. At this point in time I feel that he is the best in the bigs. The problem with him is that in recent years he has broken down and found himself on the DL. There was concern 2 years ago that he was on the verge of tearing the ligament linked to Tommy John surgery. They shut him down but that is a concern.

Now if I had to take one guy to build my team around for the next five years (and this is not easy to say as a Yankee fan) it would be Beckett. Still young, relatively healthy career and a big game pitcher.

Also, I think Santana has peaked and will be on a steady decline the next few years

Santana has only been an 'NL' pitcher for... like 3 months ago was when he got traded.

Only 3 weeks of the actual season.

When it comes down to it whom would you rather have on the mound when your life depends on it?

For me its Johan Santana.

Jake Peavy is a close but albeit still 2nd choice.

Johan Santana followed by Beckett.

Beckett has been great in the playoffs. Johan has much better career numbers and was in AL until this season.

give him a little time to come back. This is a brand new pitch and has looked good early on in camp. I think it is a great pitcher to have on staff if he can pull it together a little bit and they get a little pitching depth back. we'll see..

RA Dickey is straight garbage.

Nice guy, but can't pitch a lick.

oh sorry, I was in noooooooooooo way infering he was in any conversation on the best pitcher.... just like knucklers. He is not even close to being the best in Seattle's staff obviously.
