First off, let me say that it is nice to have a fight of this magnitude on HBO and not PPV. That being said, I have to be at the bar tonight babysitting drunk bastards so it wont matter to me, but nice for the masses.

Here is my scenario.....

I have someone who I know is a huge Hopkins fan and he was in the bar last night when I started yanking his chain about how he was gonna get killed. He said he was willing to bet anything I wanted on it. I knew what the line was, so I said how about 10k. He came back at me and told me no problem ( Dope Dealer). I told him that he needed to post up first and he came back at me about 15 minutes later and changed it to 5k and handed me $500 and said he would be in before the fight with the rest. Now let me tell you, I am not a 5k bettor anymore and really not even close to it.

Here is my question....

If he does indeed show up with the other $4500, should I turn it in and hope BHOP wins and I pay him the 5k and I keep the rest? Should I just put in enough to cover the 5k if BHOP wins? I am not in a position to lose 5k right now, so holding the whole thing is not an option even though it is a great value bet. I have decided that if he does not show up, I am just going to take the $500 risk.

So basically it comes down to putting a guaranteed $2500 or so in my pocket or taking a shot at winning about $5500?

He did this for even money? If so, what an idiot. Take $1500 and put it on hopkins at Matchbook or 5dimes and pocket the rest. Easy money, if he wins give him the profit and keep the extra dough & if he loses you still make $3500. By the way, make him put up or shut up earlier that before fight time.

Scalp off whatever you want & laugh when Hopkins probably gets his ass kicked.
