You have to remember that you dog plays are going to be extra units with the added value. The same with your fav plays. I don't believe that your 25 units is a true value.

Where do you get the stats for all the pitching comparisons? Where at covers do I find that?

What is the overall value to you give match ups in comparison with the pitching stats?

I just go to covers.com- match ups- and click on the pitcher for the team I am looking at. Here is a brakdown of what I do. If I was counting POD's etc. as more Units I would be up WAY mor units however basically I let the comparrisons between the other projected lines show me what is a larger Unit play. see below-

pitchiing is X 0.8 ( to give the value)- pitching is basically 80% of the formula and match up edge is the other 20%.

There are 2 overall catagories that I look at:

#1. MATCH UP EDGE
For this I use http://www.covers.com under their MLB area and individual Team Matchups. This is simple- I just assign 1 point to each catagory according to the advantage(note. I don't use starter since Pither has its own catagory).

#2. PITCHING EDGE
This is the area that I feel holds the most weight with the system. Teams usually go according to Pitching as far as I see it. Here are the pitching areas that are looked at(3 is used as an average on 3 batters faced per inning). I have listed after each one if you want this number High or Low.

$BB- Walks Per Batters Faced (Low)
Formula- BB/((IPx3) +H+BB)

$SO- Strike Outs Vs. Hits (High)
Formula- SO/((IPX3) +H)

$HR- Amount Of Home Runs Allowed (Low)
Formula- HR/((IPX3) +H-SO)

$H- Hits Allowed (Low)

The last step is the Pitching is calculated in with the Matchup Edge (with a higher weight added) and the Line Value is set. When the number comes out Negative it is ALWAYS in Favor of the DOG. The first team listed is always the favored team and the Value is calculated by FAV TOTALS - DOG TOTALS.

Do you have this calculating for you in a excel spreadsheet?

Yes I do - it s run off of excell. I have to do some minimal plug ins for the matchup edges and also for the pitching edges after they are calculated by excell. I am not good enough with excell to have it auto fill from too many fields- so to make sure it is done right I do it myself. It takes about 3 min per game to cap.
