A lot of teams in the AL could use his big bat in their lineup. I'd love to see the Royals and Rays get in the mix for him.

One thing is certain, it will be an American League team. I dont think The Big Hurt even owns a glove.

re-read your comment and you'll see why he said the A's.

........ i did..... and i still say they have cust and mike sweeney.

sweeney is hitting .275 w/ a .356 OBP. he's making $500,000.
you bring back Thomas you'll have to pay him at least, what, $3mill? why do that? especially on a team that is going nowhere.

Because the last time Sweeney even played 120 games was back in 2001. Frank Thomas is going to give that lineup 20 HRs and 80 RBIs with a .280+ average.

I love the Big Hurt but he'll never hit over .270 again in his career, let alone .280. His OBP will be over .360, yes, but BA will be under .270 maybe even under .260. The 20 HRs and 80 RBIs he can do.

I just found out his Leaf '90 Rookie sells for 2.50 on ebay. :( That card was once $75.

wait 6 years. he'll hopefully retire after next year and be eligible for the Hall by then. in my eyes he's a first ballot hall of famer. some may argue that, but to do what he did, steroids free, and to stand up against steroid use, that will go a LONG way in helping him become a first balloter. then his card should go up.

i got a handful of greg maddux cards and im waiting for him to frickin' retire lol

I might have to buy that. He is a lock for the HOF. I would imagine the card's value would increase after a HOF induction.

I'd rather go after Bonds if you're going to pay $10+ million for a bat. Both can't play the field, maybe as a mid game replacement.
