In 1998 I could putt barefoot on the DI putting green, go play a full court 5 on 5 basketball game at 2 am at the Sporting house and bet 5 cent baseball at the Barabry coast. I could stay at the MArriott Residence Inn for 29$ on my buddys employee card.

10 years later it has become an unbearable sewer. You cant go to a gas staion without being harrased by a crack head, its 90$ to stay at a flophouse motel. You need a room key to bet more than 300 at some hotels. It takes 30 minutes to go a city block on the strip.

Now my favorite thing about Vegas is leaving.

Ahhhh.... the good ole days. Now there are so many damn illegals that everything is going downhill. It will just keep getting worse.

Railbird- You should be glad you're gone. Las Vegas is a complete shithole. It's a dirty city with dirty people.

I miss the easy comps. Pit bosses had much more leeway. Now it's all about the rating cards and when you ask for anything, they always start with "well, the computer says . . .".

I miss the late 70s and early 80s when I was young and living and working in Las Vegas was an adventure everyday..

Have a family member in town staying for $49 at the Palms right now. Could have stayed for $69 at Rio or $39 at Orleans.

Rail needs to do better price searching.

I was there last weekend, paid $200 a night at Bally's.

Paid $100 for a "massage" but didn't price search much.

I miss going to the DI to play a round of golf and having some deadbeat without shoes on hogging the putting green without paying a green fee.

The Mint is now part of Binions. Their steakhouse is on the top floor and has a private elevator that takes you there. The Horseshoe took it over years ago. Probably early 80's.

Have not been there in seven years. Guess I am not missing anything.

You really aren't. The place has now become a complete rip-off. If it weren't for the gambling you would think you are in Detroit, Cle, or Youngstown.

Tourists flock their like idiots. I can understand if you have never been, but $400 a night at The Hotel, give me a break and that was 3 years ago(granted during March Madness).
