Is this shit pretty normal. I'm eating eggs, chicken breasts, bacon, cottage cheese, plain yogurt with blueberries, an occasional apple slice with organic peanut butter but damn, I'm craving some chips, bread, rice, noodles or candy.

Anyone know how long this craving will last? Does it get easier and what kind of snacks can you mix in to satisfy these urges?

Man when I tried that damn diet, I almost went broke on beef jerky and steaks.

So funny the thing I craved was of all things milk. I am not a milk drinker, but when I was on that, I almost lost my fucking mind wanting milk.

It's a great diet for losing weight fast. That is if you can get past the first couple weeks on this diet..Problem is when you've been on a low carb diet for any significant amount of time, when you go back to eating normal and adding carbs again to your diet, it opens up the floodgates and makes you want to crave every sugary substance on earth...Good luck

I did it religously for 3 months and it worked. Then I got off of it and started putting the weight back on and then the worst thing is I tried it like at about 80% and 4 months later I was almost 25 pounds heavier than when I had started almost 10 months earlier. For me at least it was a all or nothing thing. It worked perfectly with no carbs, but not with low carbs. I had to use the litlle strips that you piss on and everything.

Don't do it. It's just not a long term solution. You'll end up worse than you started. Just try to reduce the bad carbs and sugars, eat more dietary fiber, lean meats and veggies.

I've thrown in about 4 miles per day on the treadmill which seems to be getting more difficult with working and reduced energy. I've added in some fresh raspberries and blueberries. I have to have something with some sweetness to it. I'm thinking I'll add in a little bit of the bad carbs here and there and maybe have one day a week where I can pick and choose a few other carbs. Perhaps that balance will keep me on the right track.

Started buying more beef/chicken/bacon/lunch meats to go along with larger portions of veggies and it's not too bad. JUST CRAVING THE BAD STUFF.

I would assume if you just totally cut out all carbs and then one day you started eating them again you'd blimp back up. Yikes! I need a magic pill.

The wife says I only need to lose 10lbs. Doctor says 20lbs. Exercising and eating the way I used to didn't work.

Try eating 5-6 meals/day, but make them smaller. Also make sure you don't skip breakfast.

breakfast is the most important meal but also i would be real strict through the week and then watch yourself on the weekends but enjoy one good meal atleast but if you do not watch it when you get off your ass will blow back up plus some i recommend going to one of these weight clinics and letting them set you up on a diet based on calorie intake and diet pills along with some exercise and you can also get shots to help with the energy also for energy while on this diet get some liquid b12 and take a few drops a day

Try some whole grain brown rice...Not as bad for you and is very low on the glycemic index.

I'm in the same boat. I've been on this diet since last Tuesday. I'm starting to get used to this, but would love to pound a pizza. Anyway, good luck with your diet. Let us know your progress.

i did the no carb thing a few years ago; stuck to it and excercised and lost a shit load of weight 245 to about 205. the diet works, no doubt about it.

as for gaining it all back when you go off of it, i don't think its true. i maintained a normal/healthy way of eating, and it stayed off. i eventually gained it all back when i started eating like shit and stopping excercise.

actually starting it again this week as the nice weather is motivating.

The idea behind the low carb diet (or most low carb diets) is to switch the way your body gets energy. The "piss strips" detect the presence of ketones which indicate your body is in a state called Ketosis.

When in Ketosis - your body looks to fat cells for energy since its pretty much given up looking for you to provide it with carbs for energy. Exercise is always good - but sadly won't help you lose weight much on this diet and it's that much harder to do with the change in energy level.

I've seen it work for people - and also seen some serious yo-yo'ing occur off it so be careful.

Oh yeah - and drink a ton of water.

I did the no carb diet 2 years ago for a couple of months and lost a lot of poundage in the neck and face area. Now I am back on it again (started on April 7th). I went from 184 to 176. I plan on breaking the diet over the weekend to get a few carbs back in me and restart it again on Monday doing 12 days on and 2 days off for a couple of months and see what happens.

I would like to shed my belly weight if I can. I do a little walking in the morning for exercise, I hope this helps.

Good advice, cut some vegetables in with it for flavor, you won't be hungry an hour later. Seems to take away alot of cravings from my experience.

re: exercise, you should do this on any diet you go on.

FAD diets do not work...been saying that a long time...

You need a balance of Carbs and fats.. and EXERCISE Eat smaller meals instead of filling a huge dinner plate with food fill a saucer size plate with the same foods.. It works...

im 6'1 and I have been between 185-190 for the past 20 yrs doing it this way ... eat your biggest meal at LUNCH so you have time to burn it off...dinner should be your SMALLEST meal..

but good luck in the way your doing it
