Action on pitchers on LA at +157 then go back in when the pitcher is updated and get Boston at minus anything less than 157 when the new pitcher posted.

Did it a few days ago when we got the early am post that Beckett left the stadium due to the flu the night before but he was still listed as probable starter.

I ended up having LAA +163 and then middled Boston at -121. I had $50.00 each way.

Had LA won I would have won $21.00. My risk factor was nothing if Boston won.

I can't take credit for the idea. It's something that Tomorrow's Newspaper pointed out when San Deigo / Colorado had that real long game a few days ago. He put a decent overnight wager on I think it was Houston - don't remember the odds and then he bought back Colorado later in the day - so he in effect made a favorite a dog.

Anyway, the math works out - you just gotta be right on top of the pitching change and get the game at action - then buy it back after the line changes with the new listed pitchers.

Only thing that would suck is if Boston pulled Dice and put Beckett in - that would mess up the lines.

Wrong. Action locks you in at the price you get it at just like pitchers do.

It's not like wagering on the ponies. It's an action bet and it goes at the price you lock it in at.

That's the won / loss stats from the daily record at 5dimes from yesterday.

The action goes down on it at the price you get it.

So what happens when the pitchers don't change and the line goes up or down - does the line adjust then too? If that's the case why would you ever use action bets? The line doesn't change on pitchers after you make the wager and it doesn't change on action either.

What about you placing a future bet on a sports team - as their win loss record changes throughout the year does their odds go up or down? Yes, but the odds stay the same at the price you have on your ticket when your ticket is printed.

This isn't Horse Racing or Pari-Mutuel wagering.

From Carib sports rules page:

Example :
<table class="bettype" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1"> <tbody><tr> <td class="bettype_top">Date</td> <td class="bettype_top">Game#</td> <td class="bettype_top">Teams</td> <td class="bettype_top">Side</td> <td class="bettype_top">Total</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="bettype_cell_a">11/22/96</td> <td class="bettype_cell_a">13</td> <td class="bettype_cell_a">Astros(Williams)</td> <td class="bettype_cell_a">+115</td> <td class="bettype_cell_a">11o20</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="bettype_cell_b">04:30PM</td> <td class="bettype_cell_b">14</td> <td class="bettype_cell_b">Braves(Davies)</td> <td class="bettype_cell_b">-135</td> <td class="bettype_cell_b">
</td> </tr> </tbody></table> Atlanta is the favorite and Davies is the scheduled pitcher. The -135 to the right of the pitcher names the odds on the game. A player would lay $135 to win $100 on Davies/Atlanta or $100 to win $115 on Williams/Houston. In the event of a pitching change prior to the game, the price may change. An "Action Wager" on a team without regard to the starting pitcher is subject to an odds adjustment. Any wager marked "Listed Pitcher" is subject to both starting pitchers actually starting the game. If pitchers are not exactly as named, it will constitute a "No Action" wager, and all money will be credited accordingly. A pitcher is deemed a starting pitcher after delivering the first pitch for his team.

both you guys are WRONG!!!!

ACTION means ACTION fellas

Team against team, regardless of the starting pitcher. "Action" bets will be computed by the opening price with the new pitcher. A pitcher is deemed a starting pitcher after throwing one pitch.
<DD> <DT>Note: </DT>If there is a pitching change prior to the game, money odds may be adjusted. If one scheduled pitcher starts against any unscheduled pitcher, "action" wagers will be computed by the opening price with the new pitcher. A pitcher is deemed a starting pitcher after throwing one pitch.

Hatrick, bdgear.

I apologize. I was wrong about the middling.

Action: All moneyline wagers have action. However, if there is a pitching change, the moneyline price will be computed with revised odds based on the new pitchers.

Weird because that ticket above was a true ticket from 2 days ago when Beckett was changed out and they never adjusted the price after the pitching change happened on the "pending wagers" portion of the screen even after i refreshed it.

So, besides the apology i also owe you guys a lot of thanks for bringing this up to my attention. Otherwise it eventually could have bit me in the ass for a loss.

So, I walk away tail between my legs but smarter because of this. Thank you again guys.
