After sneaking out of San Diego with a win last night, the rain delay in Cleveland and foolishly deciding against throwing money on the over in the Houston/Cincinnati game, I ended up a very acceptable 3-1 yesterday up $14.3 dollars on the day.

I should probably mention, that currently, my units are at $5 dollars, mainly so I can make multiple wagers per day.

Here's today's card:

Milwaukee -130, Suppan vs. Moyer - 1 unit

^ The Phillies are still without their two table setters in Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino and while that hasn't stopped Chase Utley and Pat Burrell from performing, I expect Suppan and the Brewers to outlast Moyer and the Phillies. Suppan has looked like his National League self again this season and while the same can be said for the ageless wonder Jamie Moyer, Prince Fielder is finally starting to overcome the stress of not being allowed to eat meat. Take the Brewers -130 today, I can't wait for Gagne to get the heart pumping.

Twins +108, Liriano vs. Smith - 1 unit

^ The A's come into this game having won five of their last six games, leading the American League in team ERA. The Minnesota offense has been disappointing thus far this season, but I expect things to turn around for them this afternoon. Liriano has made two starts since the surgery that cost him all of 2007 and while it took Verlander and Sabathia four starts to get their heads out of their asses, Liriano will do it in three, mainly because of the match-up and the park that the A's play in though. Take Minnesota +108 over the Athletics today.

Under 10.5, Red Sox (Masterson) vs. Angels (Saunders) - 1 unit

^ If Lowrie, Lugo, Crisp and Cash to end the Red Sox order today doesn't open your eyes, the fact that the Red Sox struggle against pitchers similar to Joe Saunders (like Jeremy Bonderman, right guys? right? guys? God, I suck) should. IMO, this is the oddsmaker error of the day as they have no idea what to expect out of Masterson. Take the under of 10.5 runs today.

Game 1; Indians -165, Carmona vs. Tomko - 1 unit

^ Not going to 2 units like I indicated yesterday, but for all the same reasons I made yesterday, Carmona and the Indians win this game.

What a lousy afternoon.

I went to class with Masterson dealing and the Brewers up 1-0 only to comeback and see that Javier Lopez and Manny Delcarmen coughed it up late in the Red Sox/Angels game while the Phillies struck back to tie it and then took the lead late. Just an unfortunate series of events.

I'm fine with losing the Brewers/Phillies game, I lucked out last night with San Fran but what Javier Lopez and Manny Delcarmen did is just unacceptable. A situational lefty who can't get lefties out? Lopez should and I think will be DFA'd very soon. The kid serves zero purpose in this bullpen and we'd be much better suited taking a chance on Craig Hansen with fall backs like Kyle Snyder. Delcarmen? It's hard to be as down on him as I am on Lopez because the kid possesses some immense talent; it also doesn't hurt that he's a Boston boy.

As for Liriano and the Twins. Wow. All I can say is I'm in shock right now. Not making it out of the first inning to the putrid Oakland Athletics line-up is down right sickening. I guess I shouldn't be too angry losing a unit on this play, after all Francisco Liriano will end up losing the upwards of $100 million dollars over the course of his career because of his injury.

Lets turn the corner and do some damage in the night caps with my plays to come.

Oh, and go Indians!

Thanks man :103631605

Don't follow too closely though - With sports, I'm like that jerkoff back in High School who busted his ass in classes, eating, sleeping and breathing the curriculum only to suck on the tests. :nopityA:

Toronto -109, McGowan vs. Sonnanstine - 2 units

^ With Alex Rios and Lyle Overbay healthy and back in the line-up, Toronto's offense should get going tonight. Don't be fooled by Sonnanstine' performance against the White Sox his last time out, he simply isn't anything more than four-a fodder IMO. McGowan has been solid this year and while he may give up his three, four, or even five runs in an outing, tonight the Jays offense helps him out. Take the Blue Jays -109.

Edit: Went to -109 while I was typing my analysis up. Maybe it's just not my day?
