I am writing this because too often we hear about the bad books out there and bad experiences. I think it is important that times when books step up to the plate and deliver we recognize it, at least some of the time. Which is 99.999% of the time. This happened to a buddy of mine recently on the Masters. Bodog handled this very professionally and quickly too I might add. Not only was he able to resolve the issue in 1 E-MAIL (something some never try), but they gave him an option to withdraw it very quickly if he so chose.
So, he was looking on Bodog late Saturday night trying to figure out who he was going to wager on for Sunday. He looked at the bets for players to come in the top 5. The odds were the same for the outrights, thus very far off what they should be. He bet into them pretty much netting a profit no matter what happened Sunday. After the Sunday he had about 2500$ in winnings he thought was coming to him.
He calls me up to tell me, and I tell him in all likelihood if he does get his winnings he will have to wait quite a while and jump through many hoops due to the bad lines. He was a little pissed, but I told him I would help him if he needed it. I think sometime early in the week they credited him one of the guys and refunded the rest of the bets. He asked me if he should pursue it and decided to send them an e-mail.
He got a response that day saying they would look into it and get back to him by the weekend. He got 2 e-mails. The first apologized for the inconvenience and posting the bad line. They said due to what had happened they needed to credit him in Bonus Plays, but explained to him how to easily turn the Bonus Plays into cash and withdraw them whenever he liked. He has since received the entire amount and requested and received a withdrawal for most of it.
Big props to bodog for how they handled this, and I think that this type of thing happens much more often then the stories we actually hear about on these forums.
