put down the crack pipe. No way he comes close to 20. The Giants will give him like 2 runs a game to work with. He's good, not that good.

I believe he is "that good"

Guy was as highly touted coming into majors and is rock solid in his Soph year

no reason why he cant be Peavy II

Couple things, even Peavy hasn't won 20 games yet in a season. Also, if Lincecum wants to reach Peavy's level the whip is going to have to come down to at least under 1.25 and I don't think it will. If Lincecum wins 20 games with the Giants this year, my hat is off to him.

Nobody will ever win 30 games again. EVER. He would not win 30 games with any team. A pitcher is lucky to get 34-35 starts if the manager optomizes them. Nobody is getting wins in 30/35. 20 is pretty remarkable these days. 25 is incredibly unlikely. 30 is impossible.

I agree it is nearly impossible, but in the right situation on team that can score runs with top 5 pitcher, it is possible. If it will happen, it is only going to happen in the AL.
