I really hope the Panthers don't take Jonathon Stewart.

You each owe me $0.05

I think Houston takes a CB over a RB.

Its official, Mel Kiper has no idea what this draft is about. Derrick Harvey is not going 5th and Mayo is not going 11th.

Right now, mel has no idea what this draft is about.

Seriously, has Kiper ever been really correct with his picks? I'm sure he has nailed some correctly but overall he seems all hype.

I'd be shocked if the Panthers pass on Clady if he's available.

Official Bio

</TD><TD vAlign=top>Strengths:
Good size with a large frame and room to bulk up further...Extremely strong...Very athletic...Has pretty good speed and quickness...Nice range and does a good job in pursuit...Can hold his ground at the point of attack...Offers some versatility...Is coming off a great senior year...Can contribute on special teams...Still has upside.

Weaknesses:
Inconsistent and has a questionable motor...Does not have great bulk...Has some trouble shedding blocks...He is slow to read and react....Plays with poor leverage at times...Considered to be an underachiever prior to 2007...Could be a 'tweener.

Notes:
The light finally seemed to come on and he started to fulfill his immense potential as a senior...He could project to either tackle in a 4-3 or end in a 3-4...Has all the physical tools you look for but will need to stay motivated and play like he did this past year..Exceptionally talented but a risky prospect who is a boom or bust type</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

only way i see houston taking a corner over mendenhall is if mckelvin slips down. No way cromardie or even talib is worth passing on mendenhall imo. Houston can get a corner like a flowers or someone who might slip to the second round.

Word around the league is that teams around the league are higher on harvey than Gholston and than the Pats will scoop him up if he drops to them.

So while many here think Kiper is a moron, he surely knows a heck of a lot more than anyone posting here. Not that is saying much.

All hype? No way. More like an Draft Encyclopedia.

On Mike & Mike this morning they were saying that when on TV on draft weekend, Mel has no notes or papers or anything with him. Even in the late rounds of day 2, someone would get picked, the other 3 hosts (Mort, Suzie, etc) would have no idea who the player was and Mel would just start talking about him w/out missing a beat.

I would hope he knows his shit since he doesn't do anything else all year who couldn't do that.

I will be shocked if Mendenhall slips past Carolina, Chicago, Detroit, and Arizona, all teams that need help at RB.

Over/under QBs taken in the first round set at over 1.5 -160? Anyone else beside Ryan possibly taken in the first round? I cannot see anyone else.

I expect some team to typically panic and think they have to trade up to get their QB in the late 1st round. Then they give away extra picks that they could have used and probably would have gotten their QB at the same spot they traded out of. I think this tier of QBs (Henne, Brohm, etc) are all essentially the same and it is the system that will turn them into potentially sucessfull NFL QBs thus why was a high pick on them????
