My friends in Singapore who have travelled to Shanghai and Beijing say that the girls will come to the door of your hotel room asking if you want company.

Great city. Where are you staying in Pushi side or Pudong side? Also, if you can take the train that they have from the Pudong Airport. It goes like 412 KMH. I forgot the name, it probably won't take you to where you need to go as it only like 12 miles long, but worth a ride on once.

One of the easiest subways systems in the world. If you have time go to the Pearl Tower at night, great view of Shanghai. Also, get a metro card, you can use it on the subway or in a taxi cab. Get a business card of the hotel you are staying at and give it to the cab driver and they will take you to your hotel. Most business cards there are in both english and mandrin.

1 tip, if you are handing a business card to a counterpart, hand it with both hands on the card.

I don't think this will probably apply to you, but if you are a vegetarian as I am, you will want to saw you want ask for buddist vegetarian food.

Go the Bund at night, tons people walking around and you will get to see a lot of the city and its people. Great city, clean and safe.

Steak mentioned Yuan Garden. There is anywhere, I belive it is around a part of town called Manhattan, huge mall and starbucks is very nice to sit and see the city, reminds me a little of times square.

VD, Let me know the dates you are going to be there. I'm not sure of
my dates yet, but it looks like June/July time-frame.

I'll come buy you some drinks as long as you help me figure out
that Katoey thing. :smoker2:

Thanks for the tips, useful information... Not sure yet what part of town
I'll be... most likely near IBM labs where-ever that is.
