Hopefully this one will move like it should

Toronto -116 for 10 units

I will be buying some (majority) of this back tomorrow but expect Kansas City to be at least +126.

How can Marcum be this little of a favorite vs KC and Hochever. (yes I know about Hochever being the #1 pick in last years draft and rated better than Joba etc., etc.) I just think Joe Public will be all over Toronto tomorrow and I will have free money if I am correct.

by the way, yesterday I ended up with

Boston -106 1060/1000
Tampa +111 1000/1110

for a whopping $50 Bonus Play that won. I had no opinion on the game so I took a free shot risking 0 to win $50 on Tampa.

This bet looks really good. If toronto flashed any ability to win games lately i'd be all over it. but theyve been playing so poorly its hard to bet them with any confidence. I think you will get your middle. Based purely on a SP matchup, Marcum looks leaps and bounds ahead.

I agree. I might actually end up with a play on KC though I am leaning toward Toronto right now.

For those that want to get serious about betting baseball, this is a great tool. Write every line down and guess which way you think they will move. Remember, you are not trying to predict the winner, just the line movement.

Great observations/questions [as usual] Mr. D; it will be interesting to hear the replies.

I live in Toronto and the Jays are a mess. Releasing Reed Johnson for Shannon Stewart set the tone for the year, as the players were shocked. It was a horrible move. John Gibbons really is about the worst manager ever (OK, maybe Dusty Baker) and is on borrowed time right now. Very tough to bet the Jays laying juice, although they do have a good team.

I took it last night at -120, thinking it would move, but just for a standard bet.

You should listen to the scouts rave about the rookie for KC. Says he has a changeup that's already one of the best in the AL.

Who is Toronto going to throw up there as a left-handed bat? Matt Stairs? Lyle Overbay didn't show up for the start of the season.

Have you watched him throw? He looks incredibly average. He doesnt show great command and his pitches just have no wow factor attached to them.

Completely agree with you here. I dont see how Toronto can be only -116. I jumped on it as soon as I saw it, especially since Marcum has been great on the road (posting a 7-1 record in his last 8 decisions) and the fact that Marcum was born in Kansas City. Last year in KC he went 6+ innings and threw a 1 hitter! Hopefully we see more of that tonight.

Understood, and I'm not expecting the Jays to be -160, but Hochevar is very unexperienced at this level. He's still growing into a major league pitcher, and was shaky as hell against Oakland last week. You can tell he's got the potential to become something great, but he's not at that level yet.

And looks goofier than shit. Check out his Yahoo profile pic. I hear banjos in the background.

Reminds me of another pitcher... TIM LINCECUM.

I'm all about goofy looking pitchers. They focus on their game instead of the women.
