Mark Buehrle will now start game 2 of the Baltimore/Chicago doubleheader today. It was scheduled to be John Danks in game 1 and Nick Masset in game 2 but that changed this morning when Buehrle text messaged Ozzie Guillen (no joke) and told him he wants to start. Ozzie checked with the medical and coaching staffs and they came to the conclusion that it was ok.

Jermaine Dye will most likely miss both games today and tomorrow's game. He's still experiencing some problems with his leg.

Jim Thome will start in game 1 but will most likely miss game 2. I believe the starting lineup for game 1 will consist of Swisher in RF, Cabrera SS, Thome DH, Konerko 1B, and the only other names I remember hearing are Alexei Ramirez in CF and Toby Hall behind the plate.

Which means you WILL see A.J. Pierzynski in game 2 catching for Burls and most likely Brian Anderson starting somewhere in the outfield. Konerko should play both games as he had a day off recently and you can look at last night as a day off also.

This really shows how valuable Buehrle is to any club he will ever be on. How many other pitchers would be slated to pitch one night, go out throw an inning, get rained out, and then campaign to start the next day mainly for unselfish reasons (to save the bullpen)? I may not love him all the time as a Sox fan, but he has one of the best attitudes in sports.

For those wondering (I bet there is a ton of you :nohead:), no plays yesterday for me and none this afternoon/early evening. I may have some late night plays tonight for the 3 late games.
