Racism? Absolutely - Clemens is as much a bastard as Bonds

First off, I'm caucasion.

But as much as I dislike Barry Bonds, and feel all the ill-will toward him is well-deserved, Roger Clemens is as much a bastard as Bonds ever was.

Both cheated with steriods. But in Clemens' case, he lied to Congress. Bonds lied to a grand jury. Both should be in jail.

Clemens threw at Piazza's head and sent him to the hospital. In a latter game, he threw a bat at Piazza. As much as a jerk as Bonds was, he never tried to kill anyone between the lines. I can't recall a story about Bonds throwing a weapon at someone on the field.

Bonds cheated on his wife (few pro athletes probably haven't). Clemens one-uped him by allegedly getting romantic with a underage karaoke singer who would later become a trainwreck country star.

Clemens goes to 60 minutes, lies to the country, then tries his hand at PR by filing a defamation suit against his personal trainer (who is no saint himself). Defamation of character? You nail an underage girl, cheat the game, and shoot your wife up with HGH...you got no f'ing character to defend.

Clemens is as much a bastard as Bonds ever was. Yet the media have demonized Barry Bonds much more than Clemens.

Of course, you NY fans will come out of the wordwork and defend Clemens. Just goes to show you can't be objective.

Had Clemens been black, the media would have ripped him a new one.

Clemens belongs in pinstripes a la Al Capone.

Clemens and Bonds are not even in the same catagory. Bonds is a piece of shit who treats kids like shit if they ask for autographs, beats women etc.

I'm no Clemens fan anymore and what he's done just ain't right, but I would not piss on bonds if he was on fire. I'd gladly piss on Clemens if he was unfortunate enough to become engulfed by flames.

Of course I do like white people more than black people in general.

ive always said clemens could be co-poster boy for roids with bonds.........i dont care for either of them but slightly prefer bonds......at least hes been consistently a piece of crap and clemens has been in denial

Two points for you to consider:

- Clemens has denied he was involved in a sexual relationship with McCready. He says they are friends and that is all. The stories you are reading are reporting there was a relationship and that's it. Please don't jump to conclusions by bullshit on the internet.

- Bonds was asked by a white guy once for an autograph and he told him "I only sign for my own people" (meaning black people). Clemens has never ever come close to doing something so bad.

I don't like Clemens but he's nowhere close to Bonds' league as far as assholes go.

<!-- end page tools --><!-- begin story body --><!-- template inline -->NEW YORK -- Saying "all is fair game," lawyers for Roger Clemens' former personal trainer Brian McNamee say they intend to capitalize on allegations of an extra-marital affair involving Clemens and a country music singer in defending a defamation suit Clemens filed against McNamee.
The New York Daily News, citing "several" unnamed sources, reported on its Web site Sunday night that Clemens and country singer Mindy McCready had a decade-long affair. Clemens' lawyer, Rusty Hardin, said Clemens and McCready had a friendship and nothing more.
"If true, it's just another example of Roger's pervasive prevarications which will be at the core of any defamation case," said McNamee's attorney, Richard Emery, in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
"He flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her," Hardin said, according to the Daily News. "He's considered her a close family friend ... He has never had a sexual relationship with her."
"The issue in Roger's suit against McNamee is Roger's reputation and how it has been damaged," Emery said, according to the Daily News. "If it's proved that he's a philanderer, his reputation is already damaged. When you sue for defamation, you put your whole reputation in the community at issue. Anything is fair game, including his claim of sanctimonious purity. We would cross-examine him and other witnesses who might impact on his alleged behavior. We would probably subpoena her and witnesses who knew [of the relationship]. He's a 'family man' -- he implies that. It's about what his damages are. All is fair game."
Clemens filed a defamation suit against McNamee on Jan. 6. Clemens is under investigation for perjury relating to his testimony before Congress earlier this year involving the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
The allegations, according to the Daily News, claim Clemens was 28 when he first had contact with McCready. She was 15 when he noticed her at a Fort Myers, Fla., bar while out with his Red Sox teammates, according to the Daily News.
The Daily News report made no mention of when the alleged affair began.
McCready is attempting a comeback after seeing her career hit the skids, after her first album went platinum. She was arrested for prescription fraud in 2004, according to the Daily News, and had a son with Billy McKnight.
A documentary on her life is scheduled to begin filming in Nashville, according to the Daily News. A new album and reality show are also planned.
"She's trying to get back to where she was early in her career," said Michael Freeman, the president of Iconic Records who is the executive producer on McCready's "Fallen Angel" documentary and her "Mending Mindy" reality series. "She's a great person, and this will help her get back in the good graces with the industry."
According to the Daily News, McCready and Clemens traveled together and she attended a game at Yankee Stadium at one point. She and other members of her family also flew on a plane provided by Clemens, according to the Daily News and Hardin.
Hardin told the Daily News that Clemens' wife, Debbie, knew McCready. The Daily News, without citing a source, said McNamee "has confirmed that he saw Clemens and McCready together on many occasions."
The Daily News said Clemens sent cash to McCready to help her with legal issues and reached out to her when she was in jail last year in Tennessee for violating probation after allegedly hitting her mother.
Clemens told Congress on Feb. 13 that his family has been vital to him during his career.
"Anyone who has spent time around me knows that my family is and has always been my top priority," it said in a portion of the opening statement he delivered. "My wife, Debbie, and my sons -- Koby, Kory, Kacy and Kody -- mean more to me than anything in the world."

Oh, how could I forget to metion all the times that Clemens said he was going to retire, only to come back again.

He had a farewell tour as a Yankee, getting retirement gifts on road trips, then comes out of retirement...as an Astro.

Then he plays mind fuck games with the Astros year after year about retirement.

ANyone who says Bonds is the biggers asshole is not being objective. And that just supports my argument. If Clemens was a black man or Bonds was a white man, it would be a different story.

There is so much dirt on Clemens out there, the arsehole is betting off crawling under a rock there in Houston and staying the hell out of the limelight.

yup......but give american(white) icon roger the benefit of the doubt.........i dont know any 28year old guys that have 15 year old girls as "family friends"

Also Bonds doesnt have accusations against him there was proof to everything.
None can prove Roger did anything, nobody believes his denials thats fine but in any court Bonds is guilty, Clemens is not....
