Western Union withdrawl question

When you make a withdrawl and use WU, do you get a check or cash?

I use MG, but that's for under $1500, this withdrawl will be for more than that.....my local bank held up my last check and I was quite uncomfortable with that.

You get a check. You sign it and then you can get the money at the place that you're at (pending they have that amount in the drawer)

Is that like a check-cashing thing where you have to pay a premium or do you get the full amount?

You get the full amount Android.

Think of it as "getting a receipt" for the full amount and signing the "receipt" which would be a check that is split into each $1K.

From my experience, the place will easily let me sign & endorse 1 of those checks for cash, with the other checks going to my bank for deposit. Even if the bank puts a 5-day hold (can't recall), the funds always clear because the check would show Western Union and a U.S. bank on it. So that should help you with your concern, Intruder.

does moneygram withdrawl work the same way?
they give you a check and you cash it right there?

Yes, depending upon the location.

Some agents have limits on what they cash out...

So...in that case you would get cash and a check for the remaining balance...

I used to check the locations beforehand...to see their limits.
