You wake up tomorrow and sports betting is 100% legal EVERYWHERE, how do you think things would change, from your end and the books end.

I know for 1 thing I would be involved 100% at a higher level as my sole income. I am not 100% sure how I would go about this, either as a professional bettor (imagine all the square/public money) or some sort of consultant (some call it tout, LOL) but with the legitmacy I think you would see a lot of educated people taking this game more serious and I would try and help those people with a service, not picks but as a consultant while betting.

I think those 2 things would be big changes:

1) better lines cause of heavy public money

2) Touts galore

Wouldnt that be great if this happened? Everyone is allowed to dream, maybe one day.

It would be about 2 seconds between the time I quit my job and started making book.

I'd love to book full-time, have the means & resources to do it, it's the 5-10 "guest of the state" that I have a problem with.

right, there would be books popping up everywhere but I assume it would be hard to get licensed and all that goes with it.

Hell we got 5 gambling boats and the Govenor, his son and a dozen other officials ended up in prison or run out of office for all the bribery and corruption that came with the selling of those 5 licenses..The damn govenor is STILL in prison over it...Imagine if you cut politicians loose with unlimited gaming licenses? on second thought it would be a good way to finally get them all out of office at once and behind the bars where they belong..

Very true. But the fact that licenses would even be given out and it all de-criminalized would probably reduce the penalties. What is now a felony bookmaking charge would probably just become a fine of "operating without a license" or something similar. There would be a penalty, but unlikely to be be jail time.

Fines I can handle . . . jail time, not so much :sad3:

Yes that would be great

1- More Books, US books
2- Tons more people, we kinda got a glimpse a couple years ago before everything started crumbling

I really do not think we are too far off of this, this issue is something they will not be able to get away from over the next few years. Tons already taking action on our behalves.

It's really very simple just let the Nevada casinos open up their shops online and be regulated by the same commission they are regulated by now.

Tax them just as they are now and so forth.

Their bonus points would be comps to their land casinos thus making competition which is always a good thing for consumer.

Public Companies would make buyout offers to each and every offshore book, only a few would remain private.

in the end there will be only a dozen or so on the planet and those would all be exchanges.

opening a sportsbook account would be like opening an etrade account... on top of sportsbetting they'll offer everything from checking accounts to IRA's
