Anyone read the article on Josh Hamilton in Maxim (May edition)? Pretty crazy read. Basically tells the story of how Josh was the #1 pick in draft and scouts were saying he was a better prospect than A-Rod. He was a great kid that didn't even drink or curse in high school. He was involved in a car accident while playing at A-ball. Had back problems after that so he wasn't playing ball and had a $4 million signing bonus. Started hanging out in tattoo parlors with shady people. Got into doing drugs. Turned into a full blown crackhead. Lived that life for about 3 years and his grandmother finally straightened him up. Got sober, went to the Reds, had a great rookie campaign, and now leads the majors in RBI's. It's a very interesting read.
kid played high school ball a few miles from me, talk about a "natural" swing........glad he has gotten it together before it was too late, not often the case. i hope his success will continue for many years and he'll repay those that stuck with him in his most difficult of times.
