After one month we have a decent race and the METS have NOT run away with this yet --
SO FAR TEAMS ARE CLOSE AND THE NATS have won 4 in a row.
Current standings:

METS STILL A HEAVY FAV. for the division at BETUS--

To win the National League East

New York Mets

-175

Philadelphia Phillies

+200

Atlanta Braves

+350

Florida Marlins

+1500

Washington Nationals

+7500

I will be rooting for any of the bottom 3 here.

Phillies are looking good. Best start in many, many years. All this without Rollins and Victorino (hurt) and with Howard off to a terrible start. If Burrell can keep up what he has been doing the past half season the lineup will score a lot of runs when Rollins and Howard get going. Pitching staff isn't half bad either.

Phillies. Closer to the deadline they're gonna make a move for another starter. Maybe fat CC??

Marlins are bound to fade...too young. Mets could get hot...but they haven't shown shit this season.

Can't really count anyone in the division out except the Nats though. All these teams have weakness that can lead to losing streaks.

Even though my Phils just swept Chop's Braves, it will go down to the final week...this time Phils won't have to make a miracle comeback...

If the Braves fall much farther back, I think they start selling. Hope so anyway. They gotta get something for Teixeira unless they have realistic hopes of signing him (yeah right)

And if they are 8+ back at the break, they need to move on to next year. First time that would have happened to the Braves in 15 years but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...

Just the prospect of what could have happened if this team was healthy...Smoltz/Hudson(<3 era)/Hampton/Glavine/Jurrjens(<3 era), Diaz/Kotsay/Francoeur in the OF and Moylan/Soriano closing games. They got decimated by the injury bug this year...

Every team has injuries...another one yesterday, Francouer just got his feelings hurt, sent down to the minors, same as Meyers for Philly...Philly and the Mets go down to the final weeks again....
