None of the other entrants who selected Big Brown were closer than Doug was in the tiebreakers. The closest was poster Allworld23 #13:

From Churchill Downs.com

IEAH Stables and Paul Pompa Jr.’s BIG BROWN (Boundary) bounded home to an impressive 4 ¾-length win in the 134th running of the $2,000,000 Kentucky Derby Presented by YUM! Brands at Churchill <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 /><ST1:pLACE w:st="on">Downs</ST1:pLACE>.

<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O:p></O:p>
The race was marred by the death of runner-up Eight Belles, who collapsed after the wire after fracturing both front ankles. The brave and massive gray filly, trained by Larry Jones and owned by Fox Hill Farms, was euthanized almost immediately on track.

<O:p></O:p>
Ridden by Kent Desormeaux, Big Brown broke alertly from post twenty on the extremely outside and was able to stay close to a moderate early pace set. Bob Black Jack led the field through fractions of :23.30 for the first ¼-mile, :47.04 for the first half-mile, and 1:11.14 for six furlongs.

<O:p></O:p>
Big Brown struck the front at the top of the stretch and was pursued only by Eight Belles, the only filly in the race. Big Brown never looked back as he demolished an accomplished field of twenty horses, stopping the clock for the 1 ¼-mile distance in 2:01.82. He paid $6.80, $5 and $4.80. Eight Belles, ridden by Gariel Saez, paid $10.60 and $6.40. Denis of Cork ran on late to be third and paid $11.60 to show.

<O:p></O:p>
Trained by Rick Dutrow, Big Brown remains undefeated from four lifetime starts. He was last seen winning the Florida Derby (GI) after breaking from the far outside post in that race as well.

<O:p></O:p>
Bred in <ST1:STATE w:st="on"><ST1:pLACE w:st="on">Kentucky</ST1:pLACE></ST1:STATE> by Monticule, Big Brown is a strapping son of Boundary out of the Nureyev mare Mien.

3. If two or more entrants guess the winning horse and the correct distance, then a second tie-breaker will be the exact time of the winner. Entrants must predict the correct time to one fifth of a second.

Example:
2:02:2 minutes - which is two minutes, two and two fifths seconds.

----------------

Doug predicted a time of 202 flat
Alworld23 predicted a time of 201 flat

The official time of the race was in fifths of a second 201.4 or if you use tenths like DRF.com did that is 201.82.

Doug was only 1 fifth of a second off of the actual time 2.01.4 at 202, while Allworld23 was 4 fifths of a second off at 201 flat.

My example of 2.02.2 was 3 fifths of a second off the official final time in fifths of a second and if it was used would have beat anyone using 201 flat also.

wilheim..

Guys, moderators, Rx members. 201. infinity is closer than 202.00....

MY time of 201.00 is still the time of 201.

The race was not run in the time of 202.

I hit it with the time of 201.00 IF DOUG SAID 201.20-40-60-80 HE WINS. HE SAID 202.00.

THE RACE WAS NOT RUN IN 202.00. I SAID 201.00 THE OFFICIAL TIME WAS 201.4. COMMON GUYS

Allworld, this is a no brainer.....

The official time isn't rounded off to the full second-it's timed to the fifth of a second. You honestly have no case whatsoever-I can't believe that it's that hard to comprehend.
