Hey guys, this is my first post here. I've been monitoring for about a week now and I've enjoyed reading the information on this site. I'm just hoping to add whatever I can here. I'm more of a situational capper that bases a lot of my selections on "spots." I'm selective with my picks and while I'm not living on a beach in the tropics, I do OK. I don't expect people to follow my picks right now but I'll post and we'll see how it goes. Good luck everyone.

Padres -110 (2 units)
Maddux has tried to get that elusive 350th win three times now and while he's pitched well in his last two outings, Maddux hasn't received much run support. That shouldn't be a problem today going up against the Marlins Andrew Miller and his 9.12 ERA. Miller hasn't gone more than 5.0 innings in any start this year. Maddux has pitched well in his career against the Marlins, sporting an impressive 2.88 ERA in 40 starts. I think Maddux gets his 350th victory here today.

Red Sox -115 (2 units)
I'm no Jon Lester fan but this one is hard to pass up at these odds. I'm a big believer is betting against good pitchers making their first start off an injury and that's what we have here today in Scott Kazmir. He's a tremendous pitcher but coming off the DL and facing the Sox isn't the ideal situation for anyone. Hopefully Lester can pitch his six innings and put only a few guys on base. I look for the Sox to get to Kazmir early, giving Lester a lead and that's when he usually pitches his best because the pressure is off him. Too much value here with the Sox today to pass up.

Red Sox never have "value" in my opinion. But seeing as you are Sox fan I can see where you would think anything less that -150 is a good value for them.

Low price to pay for a big Maddux milestone against a guy who's opponents are hitting .417. Yeah something is not right there.

You got two super fishy games there... good luck.

Thanks guys. Also, I'm not a Red Sox fan. I think the "value" is with Kazmir coming off an injury to make his first start. Normally I would pound the Rays at this price with him on the mound. But like I said in my write-up, I like fading pitchers in their first outing off an injury. By the way, I actually hate the Sox. Thanks for the feedback, it's always appreciated. I believe the more discussion about a game, the better. Good luck today.

I'm originally from Colorado Buddha. I moved to Boston for work so that could explain my hatred for all New England sports teams.

Adding:
Rockies/Dodgers over 9.5 (2 units)
Lowe has had his problems at Coors and I think the Rockies will score some runs off him today. However, with the way the Dodgers are hitting the ball right now, I'm not about to go against them with a struggling Colorado team. I think the over is the play here today. Good luck everyone.
