Biggest sucker bet on the planet. I've been preaching that for years. Caught a gambling segment on ESPN last night andChuck Esposito, manager at Caesars Sportsbook agreed. I have never bet a parlay or teaser in my life.

thanks for sharing your umatched gambling wisdom, harrington. Was just sitting here thinking that I really wish you would start more threads like these so I could learn from the best.

You know what else Esposito thinks? Sports gambling in general is for suckers.

Parlays can be great bets... if the book is sloppy, and allows things that shouldn't be allowed, but its risky to bet it.

The next lecture by Harrington will be how to place a straight bet.

but, as you know steak, there is a sharp approach to teasers ... and an incredibly square approach to teasers. and its fair to say that 98% of teaser players fall into the latter approach. so books will always welcome these players with open arms.

similarly, there actually is something to be said for successful anti-public betting. unfortunately, this new trend has created so many squares that think theyre sharp by completely guessing with bogus 'percentages' on every game on the board that true winning contrarians are hard to find. but there are PLENTY of losing contrarians who go to bed at night thinking theyre siding with the books and they are basically giving their money away.

as im sure you would agree, books know there are a small % of winning teaser players out there. just like they know there is a small % of winning contrarians. but they also know that a massive amount of squares who are convinced theyre sharp are just waiting to give them money (along with 10%) every time the lines are posted.

yes this is true.. also they did a lot of their damage with 3 team 10 pointers which is why the juice has been changed over the last few years to favor the books more.........these were a borderline losing proposition for the book

sir -your point is well intentioned but ridiculas at best--- first of all why the fuck would i care what the books love or dont love-- my wagers are placed from my perspective not that of the book! As we all know books love people to be in action period. If we followed your logic no one would ever place a bet:toast:

You are pissed because you know I am right. I could care less what you think about me. I'm just stating my opinion. I see them posted all the time on this site and they almost never hit. How much are you up in you're lifetime betting parlays and teasers??

NFL teasers use to be fairly easy. Now they cap to prevent getting good value(another TD/FG) on sides & totals.

There are sharp parlays, like taking a hometeam ml like Orl or Sac and parlaying with the under. Payout isn't double but they become likely scenarios. You need to pick your spots.

When you see a book not getting off a line all though the money is lopsided they do this with the teaser action in mind.

Most guy's come on here saying the percentage of plays are on team a but line hasn't moved thinking sharps are betting the other side which may be but I think it is the teaser thing.
