What the hell is going on? it was 3.49 around town, one place was even 3.41. I go out this evening and EVERYWHERE is 3.79?! Did a war or gas embargo occur that wasn't announced??

I swear its total horseshit gouging.

It's going to $5 and beyond. I'm fully expecting $4.00+ by July, with no end in site. $5+ in 6 mos. We could realistically see $7/gallon in 2 years..

Why don't you just fill up and drive off without paying? Stiffing the cc companies is ok by you so why would you be opposed to stiffing the oil companies?

Don't worry Brock the stock market is back to where it is at the beginning of the year so the inflation in gas prices, groceries, etc. should have no affect on you.

whats really amazing is how can gas stations raise the price of gas for gas they already have in the ground and paid for at a differnt price? This practice of them doing that is getting pretty old now.

Problem is due to inflation.. price of US dollar doesn't have purchasing power.

So that 30 cents sets you back what, 5.00 when you fill up? That's not very much money--even if you fill up once or twice a week. Stop complaining and suck it up.

I paid $4.05 last week here in CA. I will be moving in a few months so that I can walk or bike to work (capital leasing and financing). Not because I can't afford gas, but it's just ridiculous to pay that much. I never visualized myself being that biker guy, but Fk it man. Now's the time. I look forward to not driving my car unless it's for a piece of ass or groceries.

i am possibly attending a meeting in D.C. next week to try and support passage of legislation that will in effect make "paper traders" who have driven the market up by as much as 30.00 per barrel actually have to physically take custody of petroleum products and thus ending the speculative nature of the current market, this is important legislation so i give it less than a 20% chance of passage.LOL

Ending the ability of traders to buy and sell product without ever having to own, store, transport, and collect for will hopefully stem to a degree the ever increasing upward pressure they bring to bear on this market.

would this law apply equally to things like grains also? If it does that makes little sense

You are an absolute idiot for rallying for this legislation. Without speculators, the swings in the price of oil would be even higher.

It's also beyond the remit of the US Government. Oil is traded in many other countries also.

When it goes up a dime per week, that is an extra $7.00 for my truck on top of last week's increase. Since I cannot raise my prices, this hurts a lot.

Very flawed logic ASUfan.

WHOA...WHOA..can you elaborate on this legislation?

Then what will be next, I can't trade 6J cause I don't physically have yen. People provide liquidity to the market place and take on risk in the process while providing this service, it's not a free lunch.
This is capitalism mate and the goal is to CAPITALIZE on opportunity. Free markets mate Free markets.
