It been several years I have been hearing this - no doubt the guy is a special player but he's no where near the top 3 or 4 players - and when is he going to start dominating in the playoffs? Next year I guess

MVP my ass.

Guess you didn't watch last yr (or this yr's 1st rd). he is playing with NBDL talent around him.

I watched the finals - did he play? I don't remember seeing him.

Yes, he's really good but he does not seem to have that extra level - like a Bird who would hit 5 shots in a row late in the 4th

To his credit - he draws the opposing team's sole undivided attention.

Must not have seen Game 5 at Detroit last yr. And when you have all 5 defenders guarding you, it's not exactly easy. He doesn't have a single above average player out there with him that opponents scheme 1 minute for

Very tough night for Lebron. Still the 2nd best player in the league

This has to be the dumbest thread I have ever seen.

He is the best player in the NBA.

Micheal Jordan could only dream of taking a team like LJ did in his 4th year to the finals.

here we go again. If you do not see how great Lebron is, you do not know basketball. It is that simple. If you cannot see this entire package then there is little else to say.

The problem with this entire Rx (and sports fans in general) are the majority of people only remember the last thing they saw and are too overreactionary. Lebron James is absolutely freaking phenomenal (better than every single player in the NBA not named Kobe Bryant). He had an awful game. It happens. These are the same people who are saying Chris Paul is God as a point guard reincarnated and don't remember how awesome Nash, Stockton, and others before him have been

James is a splitting image of David Robinson - and there's nothing wrong with that - but Robinson is not Duncan and James is not Kobe - please, stop with last year's finals BS - the Cavs were not a top 5 team last year and got treated accordingly

Whoreman, well said. 100% accurate.

I might add that many many people who consider themselves sports fans, really do not know that much about sports. They watch and see and read and talk...but still are clueless. See this thread fror example. Harsh maybe...but true.

Your right, they are not even a top25 team without LJ, its amazing that hes so great that he can even get this garbage team in the playoffs.
