This is great news. I try not to hate on annoucers since they have a much tougher job then people on the outside think but Swirsky was all about promoting Chuck Swirsky and his silly catch phrases. Still wish the Raptors weren't so cheap back in the day when they let go of John Saunders.

He was very good, but swirsk did a lot to promote the game and build up the fan base

I can agree with that, he did bust his ass here. While this is the norm with most local annoucers I lost respect for Swirsky during the Vince Carter saga.

Basically he can never say a bad word about anything Toronto Raptors. Even Leo Rautins, Jack Armstong gave an honest opinion about Vince before and after the Nets trade as an example. Swirsky was asking after the trade if Toronto should retire Vince's number when his career was done and I remember Jack talking to him like he lost his mind. To much of a company man for me to enjoy his play by play but I realize that is the norm and only my personal opinion.

He worked at WGN for years before leaving for Toronto. Very much a Yes-Man.

Ding Ding, we have a winner. Swirsky was atrocious. His style is meant for Chicago with the foolish homerism and stupid catch phrases. And yeah John Saunders was great, still remember some of those good days.

Nothing personally Chuck but good riddance.

Only concern is the replacement will probably be someone even worse. Toronto is already home to the worst TV mlb play by play man, aka Jamie Campbell (once again nothing personal but you really suck hard man).

He'll be the radio announcer not the TV play by play for the Bulls next year in case anyone cares.
