why do you "love" the mets here vs Dodgers #1 pitcher? Is it the case of avoiding getting swept? The Dodgers are the hottest team in the game right now. On top it Maine is 0-3 vs Dodgers in his career.

tell u in few when i have time for write up...but...as u know being a veteran...fade or tail if u like.....its a 2 unit play for me.....

oh i nailed the dodgers at home at this number, so one of us will be pleased in about 3 hours. But i'd just like to know your, and anyone else's reasoning, for liking the Mets here.

1. I think this will be a close game decided by less than 2 runs. The dodgers are hot of late, but Maine was every bit as good as Penny has been in his last outing (as an underdog).

2. Every hit, run, runner, sacrifice etc will count, and furcal is out, and pierre is a great leadoff guy, but hasnt been used in that role this year. hes also been quite clutch late in the lineup, now he moves up, and chu hits 8th so maine faces 2 softies in a row with the pitcher.

3. Penny line at home should be -135 or higher with his record and dodgers being 9-1 in last 10 games....looks like trap, so probably is, rather lose avoiding a trap, then playing into 1....its a long season.

4. I really think the Dodgers are the most under achieving team in the league be4 this streak...they get great pitching routinely from guys like billingsley, lowe, and penny.....and then bullpen, and they lose lots of 1 run games......i think mets have the better bats if we are talkin bout facing right handed pitching (which we are)......i think Mets turned a corner 10 days ago....and I think last night was a game they expected win, and was kept close, and I expect this one matters a bit more for them

PS, i dont play the -"must win, avoid the sweep card"........looks like pagan mightve just gotten hurt for rest of game in bottom 1st.....

like orioles here....shorthanded without roberts....but this play is all about guthrie who shut down my favorite offense in the league....the ANGELS for 2 runs in his last outing....

heres how the lo scoring game will come into play...anderson hits a laser to center for ground rule double runners on 1st and 2nd...mets score 1.....and casanova up.....maine on deck...makes nos ense torre pitching to 8 hitter

i thought mets caught a bad break with the ground rule double.....its a long game, and i know 3 run leads arent insurmountable...but in my opinion 3 runs is plenty......

just someone tell me how the hell torre pitched to cassanova with 1 out, and runners on 2nd and 3rd in front of the pitcher

4-0 mets and its all clutch from the bottom of lineup and (reyes) with 2 outs....
