I have a few guys who had solid careers but nothing like they could have been usually do to injuries

Was reading in the NY Post about Derrick Coleman who had career AVG of 18 and 10, they said he was a bust because he coulda been a great great player

C Webb coulda been dominant like KG if not for injuries

In Baseball Wood and Prior come to mind

Foots has Ryan Leaf!!! kidding guy just wasnt that good

who else?

Far bigger underachievers than DC. Here's three:

Kwame Brown
Benoit Benjamin
Stanley Roberts

Kwame is not really an underachiever, he never played college ball and only excelled in high school against little guys
if he was in college he would have been exposed for the avg player he is

if he was drafter 18th overall no one would remember his name

Wasn't he the #1 pick in the draft? Here is his bio from NBADraft.net, who projected him #1:

Kwame Brown 7-0 250 PF Glynn Academy (Brunswick, GA) HS Sr. -- A freak. Kevin Garnett clone. Amazingly fluid athlete with great run/jump athleticism. A guard in a big man's body. Can run the floor, handles the ball like a small forward, passes extremely well. Was a guard early in his basketball career and learned to play on the perimeter before a late growth spurt. Upside is immense. Has more pure athleticism than Curry, but due to Curry's raw strength and the Shaq dilemma, he may go after Baby Shaq. Possibly a bigger, better, smarter version of Chris Webber.

Another big bust was Eddie Griffin.

In the NFL, the QB is a very hard position to compare if College Football equates to the NFL.

Its more than likely most of the QB busts you mentioned werent squandered talents but mis evaluated ones (if there is such a word)

Sure he was #1 but no one ever saw him play HS ball except a few scouts

No NBA fan ever saw this guy play well. EVER

i think were confusing 'bust' with 'waste of talent'. big difference imo. guys like couch and shuler were busts. but not exactly huge wastes of talent.

lawrence phillips is an excellent example of WOT

fhm:

great call on stephon marbury.
in terms of pure talent, he is better than chris paul. hes probably the most gifted point guard in the league. unfortunately, and its sad, but hes not even in the conversation when it comes to best PGs

if Jordan didn't have a hand in managing the beginning of Kwame's career he'd have been an all-star at least twice in his first 9 years in the league

Dont know how you can say such a thing

He has been with different teams, and you are blaming MJ for his career suckage?

Lets face it Kwame was just all hype no game simple as that

Never did he come even close to All Star form

Disagree on Strawberry. Darryl was still a star.

Marbury and Phillips are the 2 biggest wastes of talent.

Jordan and Collins ruined Kwame's psyche. And by ruined I mean ruined. They sent an 18 year old so far back with the shit they pulled that I'm shocked he's still in the league. Don't forget the injuries he's sustained as well.

dont buy it

if you want to be an NBA player you better be able to handle criticism

Give me one example where MJ or Collins "ruined" Kwame
