This guy has great power and a quick bat. Never juiced but is hitting 27-28 yrs old and in real trouble and kinda soft/fat.
First full Year ... in a great line up he got pitches and no one knew how to pitch him. Add in Citizens park result = Nl Mvp
Second Year ...they caught on to his tendenchy to pull the ball. Even when he hit opposite field homeruns they were off fast balls that he was trying to pull. Opponents came up the the shift of the second baseman to almost at first base. They would bait him with offspeed inside and sinking low to get him to hit it there. Also they realized his eye sucks and he will swing wildly at outside pitches even borderline stuff outside since he stands way off the plate. Result 50 hr 130 rbi 199 ks
Third Year ...10 million from arbitration awarded just before the season. He had to buy his house and send the friends and family money. Now comes the further evalution of the Slider low and away which he flat out can't get to and can't see. It looks bleak since he will swing wildly and miss by a mile many times at anything sliding/tailing outside. He is so blind that when the meatball comes he is too scared to swing. Thow in the bait inside off/speed pitch low with the shift and he is Rob Deer if that.
Thank God the Phillies only have to give him 10 million this year. So gone he is. They are working with him to hit the ball to the opposite field but I don't see working well enough for Howard to ever again be a Star.
