Inspired by Gator627 and a conversation LN with friends.

Fastball pitchers who stink this year. Why....just a bad season or playing clean?

Verlander and Zito have been mentioned, any others of interest?
Hard to watch all the games but with all posters giving an expose of home town throwers who have lost their stuff would possibly give us a wagering angle.
Young fireballers who now are pedestrian, type things.
Clemens isn't playing but he is a given. lol

Input would be appreciated.

Zito's curveball pitcher not a fireballer - come to the darkside you'd be rich by now

Verlander is still throwing in the mid 90s and Zito never was a power pitcher. Zito is getting older and has been regressing for years now. And its quite possible Verlander is just having a bad year. Did CC just get back on the juice? Was Jake Peavys bad year 2 years ago due to him not being on the juice? Shit happens and the real steroid era has been done before last year.

If juiced and then not, still the arm strength would be affected.
Curveballer or fastballer, it matters.

Just thinking there might be an edge?? Could be wrong.

Its all speculation. We won't have the edge unless we know for sure...which none of us do.

Zito threw 89-92 and now throws 82. Verlander is also around the 92 range and we all know he used to run it up there in the high 90s. I wonder why.

Verlander threw mid 90's today from what I saw. Earlier in the year he was throwing 92-93 but thats just from not having the arm loose. I'm a Met fan and every year Wagner starts the year throwing 91-93 but right around this time of year he starts slinging it 95-97. Verlander hit 95 consistently tonight.
