How does a sports team decide its history

when they move cities?

I'm afraid it is on a case by case basis.


Example 1:
Phoenix Cardinals --> Arizona Cardinals
I assume here anything w/ PHX is part of the AZ Card recordbooks

Example 2:
Charlotte Hornets --> New Orleanes Hornets + Charlote Bobcats
I'm guessing that NO got the records and charlotte started fresh

Example 3:
Houston Oilers --> Tennessee Oilers --> Tennessee Titans + Houston Texans
WTF? Following the mascot doesn't help here....Oilers are gone, although I feel as though their history is attached to the Titans.

the only team that didn't take its history with it was Cle>>Baltimore b/c the city sued. They ended up keeping the name, history, colors, everything. So, Jim Brown is considered part of the current Browns and not the Ravens, but Johnny Unitas is considered part of the Colts franchise.

The douchebag that bought the Sonics has already offered the city the name, colors and history of the Sonics so it may happen again.

My memory is bad and to keep track of the relocations is a bitch. We are saying that there is no way to track this?

Do i just assume whoever played for the california angels is in the books for LAA?

However there are 2 differant DEMOCRAT groups who ARE planning to riot in Denver during there own convention..
