Actually "Who wants to be a Millionaire". Didn't know the show was still on the air, but he taped it a few months ago and the episodes aired tonight.

Some of you may even know him as he worked for me as a poker supervisor.

He made it to $25,000 so far and has used one lifeline until time ran out. Show will continue on Monday I guess with the next dollar amount (I'm guessing $50,000).

Good to see someone you know win some money and I'm sure he's very happy about it.

To be honest Doug, I don't know.
I do know he had to pay his way to New York as well as his hotel room.

I don't know what process he followed to try and get on the show though.

the first step is you call a number that you get off the computer. they ask you 5 questions and if you get all 5 correct they take your info. it use to be almost impossible to get through when regis was on prime time, don't know about now.

I was at the Hannah Montana concert and ABC was recuiting father-daughter combos for "smarter than a 5th grader". I made 4 cuts all the way to the final of Jokers Wild about 20 years ago. There is actually guys that do this full time. I heard over half of the Millionaire contestants were lawyers.

I had a freind who made it on the "dating game" he through the cookies he got from his date out of the window on the freeway.

Believe me my buddy is far from a lawyer. Got back from a friend's house as we watched him on Tivo. Impressed at his knowledge, though he was nervous at times.

He did a damn good job and considering I know him, he could have looked a lot more foolish.

His name is Rick from Las Vegas and he's a bald Telly Sevalas (sp?) looking guy.

They left off after he had won $25k and will continue Monday.

He was at the IP when we had the Bash there as one of my supervisors and is still there.

I don't think being a lawyer would be of great help on this show since the questions aren't heavily weighted to legal issues, but being a college grad can't hurt.

It should be relatively easy to get to the 25K guaranteed level.

I think these shows tend to pick contestants that are kind of entertaining, or often at least fairly attractive ( at least 5th grader). It seems unlikely half would be lawyers, IMO.

Second part was on tonight.

He ended up cashing out at $50,000. A few tough questions for him.

I watched it GD.. Good thing he didn't go for the 100k question.

I wonder how much taxes are taken out of that 50k..

This guy is a trip......first time I met him, within two sentences he's talking about how he used to bang cocktail waitresses in the break room. And he was my supervisor!
