No, the players they have now can actually jump over 6 inches off the floor and don't have to hack everyone in sight to stay in the league. If Lambieer hadn't been white he'd have been run out of the league in two years.

Laimbeer was one of those guys that did the little things that resulted in wins - like Bowen does - but like they posted above - he can't jump over the rim like Lebron so he sucked

Maybe all true but in his prime id like to see Lebron try to go over Laimbeer to get to the basket. There would be at least 20 teeth on EBAY the next week...

LAimbeer led the leauge in rebounding, best shooting center of all time. The leauge was much better then and much more wathcable. The 89 Pistons would kill any team today.

Way better game today. Game evolved. Became proven athletes beat dirty hacks over time.

Anybody that thinks the game is better now than it was in the late 80s and 90s, should get their eyes check. The game now is all dunking and high price dudes looking towards their next commercial.

I have no patience for all the carrying, palming and
traveling they allow in the game today.

Guys news how to dribble in the old days w/out
carrying, palming and traveling.

Chris Paul carries the ball over his head, and they show it
on ESPN like it's a great play.

Damn I'm trying top think of who was the Detroit Piston before Lambeer the one with the size 21 shoe and a big ass that filled the whole lane?

I agree big bad Bill was a very very productive player.

You people need to wake up them were the good days. Now its a joke. The refs give such star treatment to these guys.

That shit started with Jordan.

Didn't necessarily say more fun to watch. That is a matter of opinion, but the basketball itself is certainly better. Was proven over time that the slow shooters aren't the way to go, otherwise we would still be at that point.

difference to me is back then the players worked alot harder then todays players do. Alot of that has to do with natural talent being far superior so what was a top 10 play for sportscenter then is a routine play now. Dr J has the infamous around the backboard layup and jordan switching hands in mid air and dominiques tamahawk dunk were big times back in the days. Now guys like brent barry dunk from the foul line and every guard in the league can pretty much hang in the air and be creative.
