Marlins sign Hanley Ramirez to a 6 year extension for $70 million. totally underpaid for one of the top players in the game.

Keep in mind he still had three years of arbitration left. Which would of yielded him 1 year deals worth roughly $7-$9M a season. Good deal by both sides IMO. Ramirez will be 30 by the time the contract is up, enough for him to get a MASSIVE deal if he lives up to his potential.

His defense is still pretty average, or even below average...if he can work on it (or switch positions) he will most definitely be the best player in baseball in a couple years.

A steal for the Marlins, and IMO a bad deal for Hanley. He signs for way less than his market value, with a team who likely will never put out any more money for anyone else. Didn't he see what happened to Miguel and Dontrelle?
