First and foremost, I'm not blasting this Seymour fellow. This was just the first example I could find. I don't understand why in a group of gamblers anyone would conseal the identity of a stiff/theif.

I've been around gambling my entire life and if somebody screws you there is only one thing you can do and thats don't let that person get you again.

Also you can do everything in your power to make sure everybody knows they are a piece of trash so that they don't fall victim to them as well.

Why was it a bad thing for that place that posted clip joints face? I say its a bad thing not to post his face.

I'll add more when I think of it.

We try to expose the definite thieves but there are private deals between posters that are their own business and it is up to them to post or not post who owes who.

Definite thieves verified by veteran and trusted posters.

There are others that I will let people who know more details about than I do post if they are absolutely certain and have smoking gun type evidence. Apparently in at least one case (out of the three I mentioned) people who should know better from their experience in the industry don't seem to mind dealing professionally with what you aptly describe as a definite stiff/theif.

I hear you. The three you mentioned pretty much flew the coupe after their stiff job. Surprises me that some have the nerve to keep posting like the poster I quoted said.

I don't know of any really so I'm not trying to call anyone out, I just don't see how they don't get called out by the guy they owe.

I suppose they keep it quiet hoping to get paid. Where as if they post they have "shot their wad" so to speak and can't do much else.

because if you expose stiffs the chances of them paying decrease even more apparently

True and basically another form of blackmail. Tell and you will never see a cent. At some point in time it becomes moot and you might as well say the hell with it and go public.

Stinky probably has been there himself, I have had plenty of players owe me money over the years that I actually knew in person, but this internet stiffing is somthing different and in a way much more scummy.

Stiffs are just deadbeat, lazy losers that dont care about anyone but themselves. They are completely broke and will do whatever it takes to not pay their debts and take responsibility for their actions. They will lie, cheat and steal to get away from paying their debts. They will try to convince themselves and others that they are doing nothing wrong and blame anyone and everyone but themselves for stiffing.

When it comes to gambling, I am as "Old School" as you can get. I 1000% believe in this being a game where we (customer and bookies) must put our total trust in each other. This means everything in what we do. Without trust in each other than we have NOTHING. Trust and communication means everything in our game.

I have many a bookies who I am GREAT friends with and I would never ever ever stiff any of them a penny. I also know they wouldnt stiff me because we are grown men who take full resposnisibily for our actions and we are proud of who we are and our name and reputation mean everything to us.

I know being stiffed sucks about as bad as anything you can have happen to you. I have been stiffed a few times in the past year from people I considered friends. You just move on and try to tell yourself that they will get what is coming to them one day and realize they are the ones that have to go thru their life with the scarlet letter on them in the gambling world and that is punishment enough for anyone that has pride in who they are in this world.

that's why names aren't released

THat sounds like an excuse a Stiff would make. It is total horseshit. If the stiff was paying off on a payment plan I may buy it, but other then that it is total crap.

You're right its not seymore's job. In hind sight quoting his post was not the right thing to do.

I wasn't saying he should release the names I was just saying they should be released in general.

I have had it put to me good more than one time by internet scum from both sides of the counter. I've never been screwed over by a "known" poster. I mean they've been posters but nobody whose name you'd recognize.

No one has ever stiffed me - I have heard of well respected posters here that have stiffed other well respected posters - if those stiffed choose to post who stiffed them it's up to them - I was just pointing out that there are a lot of worms lurking around.

Big difference between a degenerate and a theif.

also not that I condone this conduct, but there is a HUGE difference between a slow pay and a theif.

I have people that owe me that if I saw in public I would not mention one word about it. Sometimes shit happens and I will agree that this is not the type of thing you'd paste all over the internet. Plus that turns a slow pay into a no pay.......quick.

I think the key factor in why people keep quiet about a stiff job is GREED. Folks are worried about getting their money and don't worry about the next guy in line to get stiffed. I guess everybody has their way they deal with things, but I look at it as a small victory if I can give a heads up to someone else about a stiff.

i dont know why people would make bets with others on here. the vibe is that everyone here has money and that any bet will be paid, yet you see time after time threads saying tuition riding on this, or my rent, or other stupid things, people with very idiotic money management skills and are just desperate to get action.

I've got more respect for somebody who holds me up at gunpoint and takes my money than I do for somebody who bets/gambles with no intention of paying. At least it takes balls and courage to rob somebody at gunpoint. Anybody can hide behind a phone or a computer.

Also somebody that got out of the pen has actually paid their debt to society. A stiff has done the exact opposite, they have NOT paid their debt.

Sorry to dissapoint you but never been convicted of anything. Got arrested a few times for bookmaking but chargers were dismissed. Shit happens in 60 years. I am an honorably discharged VietNam Veteran if that helps.

Did you ever get any answers from you're survey?
