As if we didnt already know that the network itself has gone down hill over the years.
Anyways, it is an absolute shame that they do not give more coverage to the NHL Playoffs. Because they carry NBA games, they oversaturate us with NBA PLayoff coverage and I could care less about that no defense playing thug league (Just my opinion, I know a lot of you are fans of the NBA and thats cool. I just dont like it. I tried, but cant. Yes, I know there sre some good playoff stories etc, I dont mind the coverage, but they just push it down our throats on purpose it seems to slight the NHL.)
I can see ignoring their regular season like they did, but these are the playoffs. Just because they dont carry their games anymore they ignore the league coverage. That is piss poor journalism on their part. Even Mike and Mike in the morning hardly talk about anything NHL.
I enjoy all sports, but NHL Playoff hockey is the best live sport to watch. The Penguins (homer plug) have a great bunch of young stars and them and Detroit are rolling through the playoffs, and ESPN ignores them aside from their 1 minute NHL segment with Barry Melrose tossed in between Tennis and Track. The Sharks/ Dallas series had some phenomenal games as well as a few other series. I just think it is sad that the worldwide leader in sports ignores one of the biggest pro leagues during playoff time with some great teams, great up and coming superstars, and great matchups.
