What???

Now way the Suns do this. Just out of spite they won't do this for D'Antoni so he can turn out a winning product immediately. Even if it makes sense I think they would trade them anywhere but NY.

But anything is possible in the NBA.

I can't imagine the Suns want Marbury. Just doesn't make sense. Shaq going to the Suns didn't make sense either.

i gotta think the Knicks have to prepare for the big free agent class of 2010. They're horrible now.

Marbury would give the Suns another slasher who can create his own shot. Having two guys like that plus Shaq and Amare down low would be a pain in the ass to defend.

Any way he can get rid of Marburry is a step in the right direction. I think you just spend the first 6 months trying ro erase Isiah's mistakes.

I would offer Steph for Amare and Steve Nash and hope that the suns hit the trade accept button on accident like in fantasy...

When I read it , I thought it was a joke. Now reading on ESPN rumours that there is some validity to it. The only way I can see it happening is if the Knicks pay Marburys contract. I think it is not out of the realm that Sarver would try to save some money even though Marbury is a cancer to any team. I really do think that Suns ownership has cost the Suns to have a chance at being a dynasty .

If I were the knicks i would do Marbury for Barboza SU. Getting rid of Marbury is addition by subtraction.

This is a NY paper rumor; thats it. Suns will never bite, particularly Kerr. Nice fantasy though. Marbury is untradeable imo.

Local Slant:

Night at the Starbury

Meanwhile, a New York Daily News report quotes somebody close to D'Antoni suggesting that the new Knicks coach will immediately go to work on trading Stephon Marbury to the Suns for Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa.

This, the report suggests, makes sense because Marbury's contract that will expire after next season, freeing up $21.9 million from whichever team's cap he's on.

Thus, the Suns could unload the remainder of the contracts they gave to Diaw and Barbosa and the Knicks could jump-start their rebuilding process.

Right.

So, just to get this straight, the Suns would bring back a player who is known to disrupt chemistry - no, that's not accurate, he's like nitroglycerin in a paint mixer - and tear apart a roster that is built to win now or never.

And in the process, they make the coach that just left them look like a genius.

Sure, that makes sense.
