Or can you still get some good beers while playing slots? A friend of mine said he was there recently and could only get Bud, Bud Light and some other cheap beers. Anything else and you had to head to the bar.

Can anyone confirm?

I heard that the Wynn no longer gives any free drinks to those who sit at the bar and play video poker.

Was there twice in the last 6 months and drank whatever I wanted at Venetian and Wynne.

Vegas must be hurting b/c I am getting called from hosts from both places asking me to come back and stay for a few nights...

Buddy of mine was at the Mirage and was playing slots and asked the bar ho for an Amstel Light and she said no. Bud, Coors, Bud Light. Otherwise take a hike to the bar. Said it was some new money saving policy.

Fuckers should be giving away most any kind of beer the way the economy is.

I agree they are hurting, my offers from the Harrah's crew are much better than they were 6 months ago.

I would think drinks would be the last thing they cut, though...They want people plastered.

Steve Wynn Stopping Free Drinks At His Las Vegas "B Bar"
Filed in archive CASINO NEWS by jim on November 26, 2007

Source:www.bloggingvegas.com

Billionaire cheapskate, Steve Wynn, has announced that he is discontinuing the practice of comping drinks at the "B Bar", at his "Wynn Casino", in Las Vegas.

The "B Bar" is one of many Las Vegas bars that have video Poker machines built into the bar itself so you can play slots while you get soused.

While similar Las Vegas "locals" bars, which are usually sports bars, do not routinely comp drinks anymore than regular non-gambling bars, the video Poker bars in casinos usually do.

It makes sense because drinks are comped in the slot areas of the casinos, so why not comp the slot players no matter where they are playing in the casino?

Anyway, Steve Wynn is the guy who, among other things, made news when he reduced the value of a $149 million Picasso by 50% when he elbowed a hole into it.

He's also the guy who came up with the idea that casino dealers should share their tips with management.

Nice guy huh?

Here's the story about Steve Wynn's no free drinks policy.

Meanwhile it's business as usual for Wynn, his Wynn hotel just snagged another coveted award.

Be thankful you're still getting drinks in Vegas for free. I just stopped by Harrah's Rincon in San Diego last Sunday. I was shocked when the bartender told me $14 for two drinks. One was a Bloody Mary and the other a Jack Daniels Manhattan. They charged $5.50 for each drink, BUT there was a "surcharge" of $1 for the Bloody Mary, and $2 for the Manhattan. WTF? That would be like getting a rum and coke and charging you a $1 for the Coke. Harrah's blows!
