So I see a lot of people posting 5 unit plays, 10 unit plays, or even 100 unit plays, but they never post 1 unit plays. Lets say u make all ur plays the same size, then shudn't every play be 1 unit and not 5 units, and if ur gonna make every play 5 units, then whats stopping you from making every play 100 units. I cud understand if ur a competition, or if your posting in the tracker forum and wanna be high in the standings, but other than that, whats the point.

I have posted 1* plays several times.
Hell, I have even posted 1/2* plays on longshot hunches.

It's just the way some people are.

Nothing wrong with it.

Some feel confident enough about their wagers every time out.

I know I'm pissing in the wind but I'd like to see 2 separate records if you're going to post multi-unit plays.. One showing actual posted plays and the other assuming 1 unit plays.

Yea but confidence has nothing to do with how u rate ur units. Say im super confident in every play and I play every play the same for $100. I post my plays and I make a unit $20 as opposed to $100, so if I'm up $500, I can write +25 units, which sounds a lot better than +5 units. But I guess most people do post their pics to get attention, and a bigger number will get you more attention.

I was always under the assumption that 1 unit shud be your minimum play, and if you play everything the same then that wud be ur minimum play and only 1 unit.

If you were posting 5 unit plays you would be up about 250+ units and all of the lurkers in the other threads would probably be driving you out of here as well. The fact is, out of the regular posters, you are by far the most profitable guy to follow on a long term basis. You are having a great season yet you seem not to garner much attention. I cap my own games daily and you are one guy I check out every day. ROI is a great way to measure success because it justifies long term results. Thanks again for your contributions so far.

I Myself Post 1 Unit Plays, like in Baseball. When the Season starts I Post Only 1 Unit Plays.
Then after a month I will more my units to 1-2 Units. After May, I will go
1-3 Units and so on. As the season heats up ( after All-star break )
I will go 1-5 and Never Higher.

I Just like to Keep it REAL.

Gazinya,

Thanks, I appreciate it. Not looking for attention, just looking to share plays with everyone. I read just about every thread in the baseball forum just to see what everyone's thoughts are. You can never have too much info. One knock that I am sure that people have is that I don't post writeups, but if I tried, I would be here all day and night.

3 units is all I will go on a game. My posted plays follow my real plays, and with baseball, there is just too much that can go wrong to make more than a 3 unit play. I have seen too many times a pitcher get the first two hitters out, and then the next guy will hit a ground ball that hits a stone and goes for a base hit, which starts a 7 run rally.

ROI brings everyone to an even level - a win on a 100 unit game at +100 is 100%. A win on a 1 unit game at +100, is still 100%. But, it is asking a lot to have everyone calculate something they probably don't really truly understand. If I end the season at a 5% ROI with that many plays, I have done really well.

All that said, this is an internet forum, and everyone posts for different reasons. 100 unit plays look better and garner more attention, because most think bigger is better, and a lot here are looking for attention.

I dont understand why some people are allowed to post 20 unit plays in the tracker forum (even though the rules clearly say 5 unit max) but I never got a response to that question.
