Milwaukee is going to announce this morning that its has signed Ryan Braun to a seven-year deal, a record for players with less than three years of service. It will exceed the $31-million deal Troy Tulowitzki signed this spring.
Good news for Brewer fans. Prince Fielder will be next.

good to see him not playing the hot corner. a lot of times when you have trouble fielding your position it can cause problems mentally for you at the plate. great player

Excellent. Too bad he can't pitch.

And I don't believe for a second that Prince will sign a longterm deal here. Boras is already in his ear telling him to hold out and wait for a bigger payday when he becomes a free agent.

I thought Tulowitzki signed for about $120 million.

Good deal:

Braun now has a 14-game hitting streak, the best of his career. Braun came into the game as the only player in the majors with three separate hitting streaks of 10 games or more this season

This.

Plus he plays the game right, you will never see his name linked in a sex, steroid or crime scandal....................

Big donger here...

But Anywho...

Milwaukee tied it in the third on an RBI single by Ryan Braun. The hit extended Braun's overall hitting streak to 17 games and his interleague streak to 27.

[h=1]Fan at Miller Park told to hide their Ryan Braun “Fraud” jersey or be kicked out[/h]Craig Calcaterra

A Miller Park security guard is apparently a big Ryan Braun fan: he threatened a fan with ejection for a Ryan Braun jersey altered to read “Fraud” instead of “Braun”:
Karen Eidem says security tapped her on the shoulder while she was standing with friends at the ballpark Wednesday night. Eidem had changed a couple letters on the back of her Brewers shirt to make it read “Fraud” instead of “Braun” because of the slugger’s recent suspension.
Security told her the modified shirt violated the fan code of conduct and that she would have to change the shirt or leave the ballpark. Eidem turned the shirt inside out and stayed for the game.
To the team’s credit, the Brewers said that the guard should not have done this and they have offered another ticket to Ms. Eidem. They said their policy is only about shirts and signs and things which might be offensive and the like. But I would be curious to know how those standards are communicated to security staff if the guy in question here thought this was anywhere close to the line.
