They are trying to rip me off. I bought a blackberry curve and AT & T is offering me some crap packages. They are offering me $30 for a data plan and $5 for 200 text messages. Their next text message package is at $15.00 for 1500 text messages. By looking at these plans it seems like they are trying to force you into getting the $15.00 text plan by offering such a shitty basic plan. They could at least offer me 500 text messages for $10.00 or something.

how much did you get the curve for?

did you already have AT&T?

going to probably buy one of these for wifey tomorrow.

i saw that commercial that adverstised them for 99..but i'm guessing that is for new customers.

online, the price was 350-100 mail in rebate..

are you able to easily navigate the web?

Yeah I am an existing AT & T customer.

I bought it at Amazon. They basically will give you $50 to purchase the phone. http://www.amazon.com/BlackBerry-83...bs_2?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1211064387&sr=8-2

It takes some time to get used to it. This is my first handheld phone so I can't really compare it for you.

I am just mad that my cell phone bill is increasing too much. I was paying a $53 bill and now it is currently at $75-$80 and could go up even more if I find out that I will need to text more than 200 times a month.

You gotta have the data plan to get the internet, etc. My data plan costs $40. I do have unlimited text messages for the whole family (4 phones) for $19.99 a month, however.

I'm a little confused...they are actually paying you $50 to get this phone...the switch over process looks like a beat down.

you have two accts at once for how long?
and it said something about termination fees....do you have to pay term fees to start a new acct (to keep your same #)

All you need to do is add the phone in the shopping cart and state you are an existing member of at & t. They will ship you the phone in 2 days and when you get the phone in the mail call at & t and they will have you put your old sms card into the new phone. It is just like buying a phone directly from at & t.
