Why is Boston the only team in the NBA getting a bad rap for not winning on the road?

Every 5 mins SportsCenter has to announce that Boston has not won a road game yet.

Yes, this is true but its not exactly like anyone else is winning many road games either.

Other than the Lakers the other night , its been pretty much a clean sweep with few exceptions.

Actually the Hawks were 25-16 at home during the regular season and no automatic W for anyone in Phillips Arena. Besides the three wins over Boston the Hawks defeated (among others) teams the likes of Dallas, Phoenix, Utah, Cleveland, Denver and The LA Lakers in Atlanta this season.

The east and the west were pretty much equal this year. Anyone saying otherwise is a noob who doesnt understand hoops. It's just that simple.

Only 3 teams in the east would have finished in playoff position in the west. ATL made the playoffs with 37 wins; 50 wins was the cutoff in the west.

The West is better and the Celtics wouldn't have won 66 games in the West. It's that simple.

West had 60 more overall wins. Go check east vs. west record. Pretty overwhelming I think. Your argument just doesn't stand up.

My math may be off, but I think the West was 482-418 vs. the East.

Golden State would have been a 4 seed in the East.

Chop--Was actually just thinking the same thing. That's all they talk about on Sportscenter. They should STFU already.

just goes to show once again that the reg season means nothing in the NBA.
the east and the west are far from being equal and up to this point the celtics must be considered frauds.

B/c Great Teams WIn On the road in the playoffs. Everyone considered boston to be a great team b/c they have 3 All Stars and dominated the regular season.

Anyone who thinks the east is good as the west can't read or they would see that you need 50 wins to get in to the west playoffs.

Um, ok - is this the same Cavs team that SA swept 4-0 in the playoffs? - oh, no - that Cavs team actually had Gooden who is decent.

It's crystal clear that the C's just gave 100% during the regular season while the rest of the league played 100% once in a while.

Anyone who actually believes the C's can beat LA or SA or even the Hornets is believing in fools gold.

What do you mean can't read? It goes much further than that - they lack basic functioning nuerons.

Man, I know some of you guys here are not little kids - and you still have not figured out that the regular season has virtually nothing to do with the post season - when was the last time the team that ran away with best record went on to win the playoffs?

Take real hard look at the results of the series of the four teams still playing right now (with Detroit and LA waiting to see who they play) you will find that they are 0-12 combined on the road during the current series they are involved in and that includes defending NBA champ The San Antonio Spurs, who are up against it tomorrow at New Orleans..

Bottom line is win a series anyway you can, if it takes a team 7 games and four wins at home it still counts the same as a four game sweep.

FYI - all 16 playoff teams combined compiled a record of 477-179 at home with the West compiling up an almost unbelieveable 259-69 win/loss record at home themselves (the East was 218-110). Winning on the road was very difficult all year in the NBA expecially in the West.

I am talking just playoff teams here.

I'll buy into this if the C's win it all - I'm certain that won't happen barring a plane crash, an anthrax attack or bird flu hitting LA or SA.

While SA could lose to the Hornets I'm just not sold that the Hornets can win it all - yet.

you win a series as quick as you can. those 2 or 3 extra games every series will take it's toll on your legs the farther you go, especially an older team like bost.

winning on the road is important and thats why det/ lal final is looking like a very good possibility.
bost can not beat det unless ray allen gets his game going.

a good reason why reg season stats are useless is because of back-back games, injuries and the long road trips[4 games in 5 nights]. the playoffs are totally different.

I'm wondering why the Spurs get the whole weekend to prepare for their biggest game of the year thus far?

Granted hornets get the same amount of days but seems the Hornets had them leg weary.

Game 6 was Thursday night and I for one am glad as I need Spurs damnit!
