I dont know much about the situation but wouldnt you think if they fire Randolph during the season they will hire someone already there to finish out the season and most likely with their talent they will get hot and win. Then it becomes interesting what to do:think2:

Just my two cents!!!

I would have to agree with you Ice. It would be Someone from Within.
More Like Jerry Manuel ( Bench Coach )

Don't think it would be right to bring someone from the "Outside "

With Omar at the helm, I'm guessing a minority would be who they would sign... seeing as thats pretty much the entire team and Minaya is handpicking guys because of their heritage. Apparently it's not racist though because it's not a white guy being picked.

Not saying he would do a Great Job, but if he did. Then He would stay for Next year. Offer him a 1 Year Deal

If he only does so so, then they will bring in a 5 Star Manager from the outside next year.

I can't remember a Team getting a Manager from the Outside during the Season. But I could be wrong.

Betallsports, this is good. I know Omar really good. I played basketball with him 15 years ago when he was a "scout" with the Texas Rangers.

This guy is far from racist, one of the best guys you could ever meet. As far as Dutrow, different class of guy. Me and Dutrow go back to the days of Johhny Rockets and a guy named "jocko"..But I know, "I am full of shit"

Omar will grab someone from the outside..No one from the bench...

Huge Mets fan here.....I hope they get swept here in Colorado so he gets canned Monday morning

Would like to see..... 1-Buck Showalter manage this team

2-Lee Mazzili

I`ve heard Gary Carter and Wally Backman`s name mentioned

For the life of me I do not understand why no one has hired Cito Gaston. All the guy has done is win 2 World Series with one team and not a sniff at another job since 1997.

That is a good question, why hasn't he gotten a chance anywhere else?

The players and media would walk all over Manuel. Gaston would be a good choice.

According to WFAN, Carter and the Mets do not have the best relationship because he wouldn't take a job in the minors a few years back (in Binghamton or somewhere upstate).

Mazzili would be a good choice. Showalter is supposedly too disciplined/strict (I realize that is what the Mutts need, but you also need someone with the right personality to handle the personalities on the team, like Torre is credited as being able to do).
