I know it's hard to win in the long run betting a ton of different games and sporting events, but I can't seem to limit my action. This last weekend I had bets on Nascar, Indy 500, Mens & Womens Golf, 90 % of baseball sides, some totals, & UFC. Only thing I didn't bet was AFL, & Wnba. Anybody else spread the bankroll over a lot of differnt games or events.

Dante,

Thanks for the advice. I've been a junkie for 30 years. I've lost many thousands in my life. I don't think there's any help out there. I've read books about gambling and there are some professionals who win betting every game on the board, just not a large % of their bankroll on every game. I don't have a large bankroll so I've lost my entire bankroll in one day many times. I'm sure I'm not alone but it's pretty sad. After paying my bills, and making my weekly gambling deposits I have nothing saved for a rainy day. Maybe one of these days I'll pop. Until then I'm pretty much a bustout.

Dsethi,

Well said. I had a very good weekend. Kasey Kahne at 12-1, Scott Dixon 3-1, Mickelson 11-1, picked up a nice chuck a change. Now if I can keep the luck going and manage the bankroll better. Easier said than done.

Nice work - I honestly wish I could tell you otherwise regarding being an 'action' junkie but I don't know how many of us can exercise the proper discipline to not make bets for a very extended period of time. I think it's a sad truth and one of the only ways to stop it is to have your system 'shocked' so to speak, with a life-altering event or one of the things I mentioned in my first post.

Just have to put yourself in the best position to win every time considering you'll likely be making a bet regardless.

How much different would life be had I never been introduced to online sportsbooks.
Interesting. So do you think your life is better or worse since starting to bet?

I'm only an action junkie during football season.

Bases & hoops do a great job of making me lose interest in a hurry.

Hard to say.

I figure I'd still be watching sports alot regardless if I bet, but now I'm much more vested in it, and thus spending more time doing it. Lots of other things I could be doing but I don't know how satisfying they'd be.

Nice having some more money in my pocket, but at what expense? The stress of following these games and winning and losing? The time taken to cap these games and go over past performances? Fortunately I've still done alot and have a lot of life to look forward to, lots of experiences to be had. Just hope this doesn't get in the way of any of that as well, but rather facilitate those things with some $ in my pocket.

Who knows. It's too late in the game to stop now, until like I said earlier, some life-altering shit goes down, such as losing all my money, having a family, etc. Just hope as long as I'm betting, I'm winning. Going through a rough stretch currently, low spirits, but forever hopeful, like a true gambler I suppose.
It's not too late to stop. I say keep betting as long as you're having fun and either winning or losing a reasonable amount. It is fun when we keep it fun. But if you ever feel like stopping just because you don't like it anymore, that's perfectly fine.

Back before the internet gambling was a social thing.

Going to the track, playing cards with friends and when i did get a bookie it was through a friend and in turn my friends also got a # and we talked on the phone about our bets and so forth.

Now were hermits in a cocoon.

Dante it seems that the majority of posters don't have an initial starting bankroll. They like to take shots

discipline (many gamblers don't have it)
Me personally
I like to deposited 2-3 hundred into an account, and take some shots.

More for enjoyment and alot less stress than in years Past

I guess I'm an action junkie during football season, how else to you explain betting on just about every prime-time game?

The only other time I'm betting a lot of games is March madness.

Haven't bet on a game since KU over Memphis, although I did wager on the Preakness.

Sometimes I look at the tv guide to see what games are on, then I'll do a quick cap. If I can get a line, I'll bet it. Overnight I'll bet tennis and wake up to see how I lost. I need to stop this.

I do my best picking 1 or 2 a day sticking to major sports and under totals. Starting with only 2 units and setting a goal helps.
