Does this line seem fishy to anyone else besides me? I almost want to bet huge on the dodgers as this seems like a sucker bet to me. The Cubs have one of the best home records in the league and Zambrano is one of the top pitchers so far..... What am I missing... if the Mets line with santana was -200 this line IMO should clearly be at LEAST that much.....:think2:

yeah this is big time weird to me. zambrano is 7 - 1 against lowe who is 2 - 5 with an era over 5. -165 seems too generous

Maybe Derek Lowe keeps the price down a bit, even though he has had some struggles. Will be interesting to see how that line moves through the day.

You guys are acting like -165 is a bargain. That is still a ton of juice to lay.

It's because the Dodgers are still overall a better team than the Marlins, and Santana is still a bigger name pitcher. That's why the Mets were laying -200 yesterday and this line is -165.

I don't see any problems with this line. You guys need to remember the Cubs lineup isn't hitting the ball at their best right now, and the Dodgers are a team that will probably make the playoffs. This is no bargain, but I would also never bet against the Cubs at home with Zambrano on the mound.

Good luck with whatever you choose. I will probably play the under here.

i believe 165 is a pretty good bargain for an ace at home against a pitcher who has had nothing but issues all year. usually a line like this is -190 to -245 and although the LAD are a good lineup they are without furcal, garciaparra, kent and jones right now.

You have to be a Dodger fan to feel the way you do. :drink:

Not at all. I'm a Jays fan. I see the Dodgers winning their division though. I made a bet $100 bet with my buddy a few weeks ago that the Dodgers would win the division over the D-Backs (this was when they were like 7 games back I think) and I gave him even odds.

I'm not trying to convince people to bet the Dodgers tonight though, I was just giving reasons for the line. It didn't seem off to me.

Cubs bullpen has been worked to death, they barely won the last 2 games and you want them to be -245?

im not saying i want that line i am just saying it isnt unreasonable to expect that zambrano would get a line around that pitching at home with 3 of the dodgers top 4 batters out and considering lowe's struggles

I deffinately think -165 is a bargain, to me the line should be much closer to -200, but thats what im saying hook line and sinker? :hump:

Would taking the Cubs after 5 innings be a good bet considering the weaker Cubs' bullpen?

you mean taking them in the 1st 5 innings? Possibly, but that still means the Cubs have to score.

I just see Zambrano getting lit up one of these days, kinda like Webb did against Atlanta.

Dodgers vs. Cubs

Seems like alot of value in the Dodgers +1.5(-155) they have left alot of men on base this series. I cant keep hitting this bad. The Cubs have problems in the field. I think Lowe can keep this one close.

Yeah...I know. I keep waiting for him to get lit up too...

I was hoping to make a pretty large wager on this but I'm hesitant. Then again, he's at home, he's only gone under 6.0 IP once this season, the Cubbies' bats went off last time they played the Dodgers....

Ah! What to do, what to do...

FWIW

C ZAMBRANO is 1-8 against the money line in Home games when playing against a team with a winning record over the last 2 seasons.
