Don't see how Cook pulls them out of their slump...even if they win today they will just start to lose again. They are missing some major bats. Holliday, Hawpe, Tulo, and Atkins. This team is fielding a minor league team for the most part. Unless Cook is going to hit some Hr's today I don't think they have a chance. These guys were not good with all those bats in the lineup and now they are expected to win.Cook will pull them out of their slump.................
Just an FYI stat...it's been nearly seven years since the Cubs have won over five straight games at home. Their offense also hasn't really been tearing the cover off the ball...they beat the Dodgers with some very low scorelines before the first Rockies game yesterday, and they run into another good pitcher today.
Cook pitched well against the Cubs earlier this year...think his ERA was only 2.25 in that game, and his overall ERA is around 2.80. Think there's a little value in the Rockies, but as has been mentioned above...their bats worry me.
