Anyone in here from there or near vicinity. Wife got speeding ticket going to a Golf Tournament in Tus last Saturday. 70 in a 55. Can't have anther ticket this year and was wanting to get lawyer to appear and i will pay fine and fee. There are lawyers in Dallas that handle only tickets, but not familiar with Alabama area. Thanks:nono5:

Call the court where the ticket is filed. See if you get you a sweetie on the other end of the line. Ask her if she can give you the names of a couple of the attorneys that file notice of appearances often on this type of ticket as you'd like to hire them. Worth a shot. Always best to get an attorney that appears often in that court. They know the judge and prosecutor and can usually work some kind of sweet deal.

Why do you need a lawyer to pay the fine and fee? If she's guilty then pay the fine and move on.

It's against the law for anyone in the court to "recommend" a specific attorney, bail bondsman or tow truck driver.

They often have lists of locals doing those jobs and are required to rotate that list in response to inquiries.

Save the money you would spend for the long distance attorney and use it to pay your higher insurance premiums which will be coming soon.

She doesn't need another ticket on her record and i'm not too sure her insurance goes up or not. I've had six in the last two years because we both do a lot of driving , but none are on my recoed and i've paid to have lawyer appear in my behalf.d1g1t

Ok here's what I've always done. I know for a fact it used to work, but I can't honestly say that it still does. I did however just do it last week....anyway.

Pay over the amount for the ticket and when they send you a refund check don't cash it. the transaction never goes through and therefore never gets on your record.

like i said can't be sure it still works but i can't hurt other than the few bucks you overpay.

I used to think that too. I got ticketed in 1988 in Arizona for parking in a dust free lot when my car overheated. I went to court only to have the judge schedule my next court date. WTF??? I thought I was there to fight the ticket.

I was going to move to California soon so I decided to just skip it. I went to get my driver's license in another state in 1993 and they said I still had the ticket I hadn't paid for so they wouldn't give me my driver's license until I paid the ticket. They said there is a national database now that won't let you get a driver's license if they find you owe money in another state.

If you called me barman I'd be glad to give you a name or two. Happens all the time.

Well yes if you are going to get a different license then yes that wont work.
I was talking about if you are staying with your state but get a ticket in another state you do not need to pay that and in 7 yrs its gone and ur state wont even know you got that ticket believe me I know.
I live in CT and I have gotten tickets going to Yankee games and dont pay cause I dont live there and nothing happens.
Same thing for when I lived in Florida.

Speeding Ticket

Wife does a lot of highway driving and gets a few tickets. She got one in Canada 10 months ago and we paid . 285.00. Wish we hadn't, because the chances we ever go back there are slim and none except maybe to buy a case of Rossi Dasiago lemoncello.Probably wouldn't even go on record. She wants to pay this , so i'm going to call the ticket clinic Wilheim game me some info on. If that doesn't work, will try the old bait and switch. pay over the amount and not cash the refound. Will try anyhting once. I'll wait and see.Have to pay that as we go to South carolina to to play Golf three times a year and have to go through Ala.Thanks for the help.:toast:

Check your credit report. I had a ticket stay on mine longer than the 7 years. That was back in the 90's so it could be different. But I don't believe government leins fall off after 7 years.
