WTF? Spelling Bee on ESPN???

I turned to ESPN and why is this spelling bee crap on my TV? I mean, good for the kids, but on a sports network?

How long before we have lines on this?

"Up next, the 10-year old speller you don't want to miss!"

For some reason I have always enjoyed watching this. I mean it is on in the middle of the morning instead of the 17th consecutive rerun of sportcenter. This year they are taking it to the extreme though and having it on primetime network (abc) and in a prime slot. I think that is a little absurd.

Some of these kids are painful to watch - miss it by one letter. Then cue the shot of the parents. How soon before we hear about "stage moms" compared to "bee moms".

Isn't the final around on primetime? 8 PM, I remember seeing it scheduled for tonight.

Honestly, the spelling bee is probably as interesting as a baseball game, what's the difference really.

Have not watched this year, but I remember for the last few years it seemed as though 75% were home schooled.

Ya. Really sharp kids with academics but incredibly unpersonable. Like they are just not with it when it comes to communicating with other human beings.
